Its in the news everywhere on Japanese TV and the Japan blogs. A guy killed a girl, chopped up her body, crushed the bones and got rid of the parts by flushing it down the toilet and leaving bits at different garbage collection points. He said in an interview just before getting caught that he only has interest in 2D girls. You guessed it - the eroge industry gets the finger pointed at again by news sites like Live Door. I'm guessing this will be the only thing you'll be hearing all this week on the news.. Anyways, this is just disturbing and disgusting. How is a human being able to do such... horrible things. Meh, this kind of stuff happens in the U.S. all the time, except they tend to blame it on video games rather than eroge. Not too much eroge in the US anyway, so it's tough to blame it on that. I'd be curious to see what the arguments are against eroge/2D girls. I can SORT OF see where the whole video game argument is coming from with Jack Thompson and such. But 2D girls? Seriously? Bah, people just love to point the finger. They need somebody/something to take out their misery and such.

It's not that anyone is being disrespectful to the person that was killed, it's just that for the past month or so there has been a lot a bad rep towards the anime/eroge industry. So much that there is actually a bill in the Japanese government body right now, in which they are trying to get stuff banned. This does not help the anime industry look well at all. It also goes to show that it's ridiculous that the media would make note of this fact and push it.

we all feel for the girl.. a horible way to die for anybody and i hope the guy gets the chair (doubt japan has a death penilty though) but this is also a story of how polititcians and others use bad things to further their own goals. example of every time there is a school shooting or ther type of gun crime that the looneys come out of the woodwrok to try to ban guns and violent games.. well after the girl died i hate to say but but chopping wont hurt her anymore except it will hurt her family the most. there should be respect for dead i agree with that. and he liking 2D girls is not a reason i dont think in eroge anime they kill girls(i havent seen more than two eroge) but i still wonder What eorge can make one person go for a brutal kill. mentally ill is the only reason i can think of. I think it's somewhat hard to blame the eroge industry for this, it's not before there were eroge availible people didn't chop eachother up... Eroge and videogames don't make psychopaths, social pressure and easily obtainable weapons do that. But saying the social pressure in your country is high, or making weapons unobtainable won't get you any votes so politicians tend to use videogames as a scapegoat... One thing is a worldwide phenomenon tough, daft ignorant politicians who lack common sense.
