Am I the only one who thinks the face looks very off for this Tony Taka figure? Original illustration is here. Via Akiba Hobby.
You haven't judged wrong Danny, her face is quite off from the illustration. Her eyes are different. Nose is a tad longer. Shes wearing lipstick/colour. dark, tad thicker brow. and a dark smudge on her cheek. D: Though the body seem nice.
i think the smudge is supposed to be her blushing. to me it looks like they're sunken in.
Stomach and hips also look a little off...
She's not bad-looking but very different indeed. And removing her glasses makes the figure diverge even more from the original. My only complain is the ear. :P

something was certainly lost in the transition from 2d to 3d. doesnt strike me as Tony Taka-ish. maybe if you squint your eyes a little

It's not the face. It's the hair not being sharp enough.
Oh my :O You're right, she definitely does suffer from the limp noodle hair effect in her bangs. >.> Still, pretty nice figure, even if it's off a bit.

yes , i totally agree on the hair part, and her face features aren't very sharp and defined. The outline for the eye and eyebrown are too huge. the whole figurine looks shabby and not pretty anymore.

I wonder if it's even possible to create a figure doing his artworks justice. Must be pretty damn hard. The figure looks good on its own.

I don't see anything wrong really, still hot and tony taka, don't know what yall complainin about lol. Of course transition to figure won't always be 100% composite. Getting this most definitely.
i guess its the sculptor's take on the picture itself, threw in some of his own flair so to say (not that the fans are enthusiastic bout it) but as for longer nose, i think its to perch glasses on. and as for the other tidbits that are off, i for one didnt notice. maybe im not looking hard enough? or maybe im just drawn into the overall beauty of the fig.
The original illustration is lovely, but the figure really borders on ugly to me.. it just somehow looks very wrong (the face.. the size of the head seems way too huge too from some of the pics) and the style of the hair isn't nice either. The expression comes of as very different too, in the illustration she's shy with a slight curiousity.. in the figure she looks flat out bored x<

saw this couple weeks ago somewhere else; i didn't realized it was T2 work until i read the article. Beside that, this figure still looks very sexy imho.
You are not the only one Danny, saw this around some time ago, maybe before or around the time Lsio83 saw it, and I knew it was T2's art but the figure's face just looks so different from his original illustration. No idea why T2 works with that company, this is not the first figure of his illustration they massacred.

Some details are off from Tony Taka's designs, but I think the resemblance is still there...Its enough for me to ask a friend to pre-order this figure since its supposedly a Toranoana Store Limited item... ^___^
With the glasses, she looks pretty good. Without it, looks strange. Either way, body is hot, but no buy.

Something was definitely lost in translation. While it is not ugly, it doesn't seem to be appealing. Maybe it's my eyes going or just the picture is of low quality, but she looks kinda fuzzy. Like she has some sort of peach fuzz or really bad cloth body. I dunno.
The figure by itself looks nice enough, however it does not capture Tony Taka's original illustration at all... quite a shame.

Body is off as well. Looks like she works out a lot on her upper abdomen but not at all on her lower abs. Which could explain the jutting ribcage etc... Still kind of cute, just not my taste.
Definitely different. I think she looks better with the glasses on. And I have her preordered because the bikini+maid combo was just too cute and amusing... :3 I shall see how she turns out.

FACE OFF
The face is off, but she looks like a friend of mine from back in the days, and I had (and still do) have a crush on her. I bought one and arrived yesterday. It was expensive as I couldn't find a "regular" store to buy it from.
