hope the design of the Impulse served Bandai as practice for the V2. A MG V2 Assault Buster would be totally awesome

No, there aren't. Along with Gundam X, those are the only two shows whose stellar Gundams still not receive the MG treatment. That's why I hope for a V2 and some time later, a Double X ^^

If that were the case V2 would have been the next master grade instead of the ver 2 rx78.

I actually think the Impulse Gundam's docking system is a lot closer to the RX-78-2's core block system than the docking system for the Victory and Victory 2 Gundam. Each part of the Victory Gundams have parts that transform (most complicated being the arms and hands) which makes the design way more complicated than the Impulse Gundam which more of a "limbs extending" thing rather than a true transformation. I think that's the main reason that we haven't seen any V Gundam MGs made yet. The docking and transformation sequence is really complex, even more so than Zeta, ZZ or even Unicorn. As for the lack of Gundam X MGs, I think that has to do with a lack of popularity of the series. Then again, Turn-A wasn't exactly popular and got a MG, so anything is possible in the future. A would totally fangasm if they ever made a MG Gundam X Divider...

The HG Double X is pretty decent by the standards at the time. I haven't built a 1/100 HG kit for some time so I don't know about now, But yeah, the V2 docking is very complex compared to impulse and the RX-78.
