Looks like all you gamers out there are one step close to gettin your sweaty little hands on MGS4. Konami held an event in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo making an official announcement that MGS4 is ready to go. Trailers and info were only shown to press and not made public yet, but there is a rundown of the days events with some interesting tidbits. Snake! Snnnaaakkkeee! Via IGN

Question: do u need to play the first 3 MGS games to understand this one or is it a stand-alone?
They will probably give a brief recap of the previous games such that you will have a very vague idea of what has gone on, but you'll have to have played at least MGS2 to really understand what's going on.
Can't wait for MGS4 to come out, thats the day I get PS3. Not that I'm a MGS fan, never even came near the series before. Its just that the MGS bundle will include a DS3 controller on the 80GB SKU =P
