This is new news from yesterday as of 9th May. Three well known anime cappers on share were arrested for uploading animes to Share p2p network. So for those who use Share, now we lost 3 big contributor to anime raw uploaders. The Share ID of these three are: - YS2YSUe1cLtf - 92JeyRfcya - YnXmHqtxqS If you use Share to download anime raw, you probably know these three. *salute* Otsukaresama. News via darkdiamond. ANN also posted the news. Discussion in 2ch can be found in here and here.
Boo~urns~! I was an encoder for a few fan subbing groups, we used to get a lot of raws from share and winnry, the fps for the vids were amazing. But those guys weren't the only people supplying them, there were other guys who gave out the ISO's from anime DVDs. And most of these are put on torrent the moment they are obtained. Gah, we're gonna have to find something better than Share now! *pout*
Not that it especially matters with Japanese P2P progs, but what are the laws in the UK regarding file-sharing? Oh, it appears I've stolen your icon.... how embarassing! ^^;
It doesn't matter for me, like you said, I live in the UK. But back when it was discovered Winnry wasn't secure any more, you should have seen how terrible speeds became. Some clusters used for searching didn't give out good results either. It's wasn't till Share came out that everything picked up again (improved internet speeds didn't hurt either). There have been rumours of a new P2P program in the works for ages, now could be a good time to release it.
Isn't there a successor for Share called Perfect Dark (<- has nothing to do with the N64 game).
one moment for those who die for us anime leechers. Holocaust is still continuing... can the world's anime community survive? I mean the community that live based on frequent supplies of subbed anime
i feel bad because YS2 arrested. hope that somebody will provide us with DCIISS 720p
...Aw, geez. Not that no one expected this to happen eventually, but I feel bad for them. Truth be told I don't really think much about where my online anime comes from, and I reckon many of these guys never got as much thanks as they deserved. Then again, they were also mass copyright infringers if you think about it. They keep anime overseas alive, but laws are laws... >< How complicated.
this was a bad news, 3 famous source provider is gone, I have heard their provide a very high quality raw. salute to them.
This is sad. But this also adds more reason to study Japanese and work and live in Japan.
Peer-to-peer filesharing is *insecure*. The authorities, if they want to spend enough time and effort, can find out who is doing the seeding. Which they did in this case. How do you think the producers of *uncensored* content securely get the content out of Japan? They zip the content of whatever has been ripped, encrypt it with a password, and use semi-anonymous file uploaders. Some of those can handle up to a 15 GigaByte file. On the other end, somebody else has the DownLoad Key, the password, and has the unzipper|decrypting program. That's a more secure way of sharing content, be it anime or live-action. Excuse my ignorance, but what are "anime cappers"?
Cappers = CAPturers. We're essentially referring to people who record anime and upload it so people can watch it or use it for fansubs.
*salutes* to these very brave unloaders who put their own asses on the line... They have thanks from the very bottom of my anime soul!
