Second Life Japan

Second Life Japan
Nippon TV is apparently the first in the world to use SecondLife to record a show that will be broadcasted on Japanese TV.
Many people rave about Second Life but I still have not seen the light I guess.

It can be an addicting game if you are willing to shell out real world money to buy stuff. I more or less loiter around in game when I am bored.

I am glad that I am not alone on this one. Really never did see what was so great about second life.

One of the cool things is that you can make your character look like anything you want. So, if you want something that's moe, you can do it, if you can find the stuff you need, or make it yourself. I actually make clothes in it and sell them, making some nice extra income.

Never tried and never will try... I don't see any fun in playing it.

It seems pointless to me, like putting glasses on if you already have 20/20 vision. Why would I want to shell out real money in a game for "virtual" items that is as much of a nuisance as real life can be? You generally play games to escape reality, not feed into a second reality. When I looked at the pricing structure of owning property (i.e. - buying an island for several thousand real dollars), the amount of frivolity involved in purchasing things in-game would be on a scale with the real person owning that account having enough expendable income in real life to buy a REAL island. -_-; I played World of Warcraft for about 2 years give or take, and sans the real world money commitment, even the fictional commitments you make to maintain your character in-game end up equaling a lot of time and effort spent that could be used to do other things that don't involve contributing to organ failure, lol.
