This guy must spend a lot of time after an earthquake + dusting + looking for stuff. Via GK Figure.
its going to be really really hard when you have to move to a new room with those stuff <.<
True that. >_< Unless he somehow managed to conveniently semi-anchor the figures to their places, just to endure some room migration, earthquakes or other disturbances.
Seriously, my moving took a bit of placing everything back in their original box...I wonder if the person kept every single box as well xD. Perhaps in a storage facility...
I second that and I might move soon too and I'm already getting headache about packing and etc x_x
Terrifying, but I admire their effort to keep things tidy. Heaven help them if there's an earthquake or they need to move house, indeed.
holy cow...he couldve imported a ferrari with all that money. Okay, maybe not, but still, thats ALOT of figures...
A Ferrari is tempting, but figures are like an insurance policy in themselves - if someone breaks into your house, there'll be nothing they want to steal! That's one of the things I like about being an otaku.
unless the thief is another otaku, then it's JACKPOT!
True, I've considered that, but it's not very likely to happen where I live ^^. I can pretty much count the number of people I know who have even the vaguest idea of what moe is on my fingers. Sad sad reality...
hey, its true where i live too, small town headache...i only know i other person here who likes anime.....though he only watches a few ones. and i am wierd accordinr too my friends, since i spend good money on figures, posters, and pillow cases, and other anime treasures!.........i hope u dont have as hard of a time finding things where u live my fello otaku!
haha, right on. I've had the same thought process myself on occasion. However, if they're the type of thief that gets pissed that there's nothing to steal, they may just break everything out of spite, lol.
That disaster make me freak's but please don't hope gonna happen..T_T
Is that really someone's personal room or actually a shop (although I've never seen even an anime/hobby shop with so many figures crammed in one space)?
I've seen one where the computer is set up on the bed with the screen on the side because of lack of space. Things like this make me doubt my fandom. Or make me pity the otaku being milked for all their money.
Good luck cleaning up the shelves. I can just imagine the domino effect when one accidentally topples. Don't think he'll be moving house soon too, with all the money being put into buying figures instead lol.
Seems like you've beaten me to the cleaning comment.
kudos for neatness!!!!
Must be hell to clean all those figures when they get dust on them. Bit like playing Jenga when removing them off their shelves.
You gotta love how everything is arranged by fetish here. Maids in one corner, swimsuits in another corner, Ikkitousen babes on the shelf... I could go on and on!
this guy is an amateur , see this: http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/clubs/1/4495.jpg
LOL! How can that be a room for sleeping and stuffs. >_<
I don't think he uses his time for minor things like sleeping .. :D
I call that a "Warehouse". It's not even a "room" anymore >_<;
Agreed!
*makes a stunned face* Woah, how can you even move in the middle of all that?!
Use the power of meditation of levitate around there? O.o
I'm getting this Read or Die flashback...
Atleast Yumiko has some space for her to walk around the apartment building >_<;
O_O totally stunned.
unbelievable... are all those mangas or games or a mix of both???
Must have a harness on a track in the celing in order to access the archives in the back. lol.
This must be it.
....or a modified version of one of those automated tape drive archive robotic arms they use(d) in data storage facilities ^^;
how does he sleep? on them? under them? buried under them? he could build a room with those
maybe he has two rooms & he uses the other one to sleep
Looks like an underground vault to preserve games in case of nuclear fallout or something. Kinda like that movie repository they have in the side of a mountain for that very reason, I think disney owns it or something.
Seem to remember seeing that photo a while ago. He would only have to dust about half his collection as most of them seem to be (packed into) cases. However this man is some sort of loony, cramming them all in so tight most of them aren't visible is not really an enjoyable collection!
i wonder if he will to sell all his stuffs, how much will he get? US$10,000? What do u think?
Btw, are you able to tell how much he could have paid to obtain all of them (aka their value). Please, thanks much.
They can both support a small industry on their own
O.O Wow... I WANT IT! I only *wish* I could have a room like that. T_T
That's why you should use a big display case. It's not only better for keeping all your figures in place, it also looks good.
hooooooly^^
Woah, figure overload/overkill! I do not really envy this guy as there is vital space taken and like you said Danny, lots of drawbacks to that. Though I must second other members in that that person is super organized. I bet he religiously reveres to each of his figures every night and morning. Btw the way he has organized his figures reminds me of the way I have sorted (and constantly updating the arrangement of) the drinking glasses when working in the shop of the non-gouv. association I am right now. ^^;
That's alot of stuff... I'm in despair! The fact his room is filled with so much otaku-ness has left me in despair! I'm ashamed to call myself an otaku when I look at his room, I'll go sit down in a corner now...
Wow.. Now this is what I call a true otaku room.. The guy have more shelves than I have in my room.. I wonder where he stores them after his room is filled.. Bathroom??
That guy has a lot to lose... a lot.
*Incarnates Fuura Kafuka for a moment* No, you're wrong! He is one of the major supporters of the otaku culture! His continued support and contribution to it and the Japanese economy overall is extraordinary! He does deserve a golden medal for that! *Returns to his old self* See now? I guess there is a good side to everything.
Let's play, 'Spot the Bincho-tan'
Found it, that was too easy. What about "Where's Baiken?" (unless I'm mistaken on the figure, but it really looks like her)
0___0* my goodness... so many figs and thats just his desk... wonder how the rest of his room looks like???
no need to worry about earthquakea. some otakus are known to have the power to stop earthquakes. ('~')
OMG! I want sleep in this room.
Dang all those figures and manga....gonna lots of money to buy all those...
that is 1000x my figure collections; he should get a bigger room first.
I'm getting nervous with the thought that an earthquake will pass by his room and BAM! All of the figures, done! I've seen many pictures of Otaku's rooms, and this one is worth looking at.
he could buy an apartment with those
I beg to differ with that earthquake. After one he'd be clearing away nothing but dust and tears >_< Ooh, the pain of his heart.
OMG *LOVE* My parents think my room is cluttered!! Thats major-over-clutterage. I LOVE IT. It's comfort clutter lol So jealous too...
wooooooaaaaa :o OMG that's sooo crazy cooool! 1st thing that crossed my mind was EARTHQUAKE!!!!!
Trying to make my room a bit more like that, but now still nowhere like that! xDDD Maybe in a few years later perhaps.... xD xD
I'd pay to see the reaction if he somehow managed to bring a date back to this place.
haha o_o; welll maybe dusting them slowly is therapeutic ? :P
Maybe a fetish even?! Who knows?
HOLY CRAP!!! That is alot of figures!!! This guy must have spent a lot of money on figurse... What a room... When the guy move, I wonder how hard would it be to pack all those figures!!!
new game .... COUNT THOSE FIGURES!!!!
I think its easier to dust all of this compared to Mecha...You have to repose all of them after you're done compared to these figures. Just take-wipe-put down. Sigh...
i think this dudes made a new grade of Otaku the "Hyper-Otaku!" i mean me i wouldnt be able to sleep at night with all those faces staring at me whilst i slept >_<;
There already is such a title - Otaking! :)
If I lived in Japan, my room would probably be something like that. :P
O.O I stand in awe at such a glorious alter to Otakudom Just glad I don't have to clean it. ^_^
いそがしん部屋だね。それはどこの国にある?
Cleaning time must be extremly rough... Looking rooms like this makes feel like a begginer on this, lol...
Heh. That's the one advantage an old CRT monitor has over a new LCD or plasma or whatever. You can put a whole shelf of figures on it.
AAAH.... I have that Midori doll!!! But not the rest ~_~
Wonder if they'd let me have a few of their figures to sell so I can purchase the limited edition $275 Evangelion headphones I want ^^;
Man, I wish I had that kind of money >.> good stuff, though lol.
Get a life dude... i mean, HS.
wow,just wow...
I could just imagine how his room would smell like during summer.
Earthquake huh? there's never happen to have earthquake ever in Singapore. that room... need more lightning
very persistent! I never knew someone would live as an "OBSESSED COLLECTOR" hahahhaha....TOO BAD coz if he dies, HE CANT BRING THOSE THINGS IN THE AFTER LIFE....not if someone inherits his "Fortune"...ya know what I mean....
my eyes don't know where to look!
OMG.
My room looks like that too!!! I should post my room sometime too. XD
wow! now that's an Otaku Room... maybe soon my room would look like that XDDD
It's kinda creepy actually..
