Your RPG sense is right, but if something has upwards 9000000 HP and surives after losing that amount, it'll probably would be more apt to use a Super Robot Wars reference.

F111 able to fly up to Mark-5 (5 times faster than the speed of sound), so the pilot can barely see the shape of a pelican/birds while at that speed, so it cant avoid it & have to smash into hose poor living creatures, just like roadkill. These case happen from time to time on commercial airline, but so far no incident had been reported that any plane were brought down by a bird which cost casualty & injury, luckily............

mach 5 is a bit of an exaggeration there. the f-111 is only capable of mach 2.5 (it is a bit old in design) but still at that speeds this incident is still possible.

I have heard of one actually. A bird got sucked into the engine of an old Chinese fighter, causing engine failure. The pilot could have bailed out, but realising that it could have crashd into a village if not controlled, he avoided crashing at the village at the cost of his life.

Birds are the bane of airplanes in the air, since it is far easier to collide with one than another airplane. Birds are also big enough to deal considerable damage at high speeds (on the plane's side) to the engines if it gets into those, so yes, birds are pretty dangerous. I am surprised the plane came back in (roughly) one piece.

I've seen a fair share of bird strikes (that's what you call a bird vs aircraft collision) through the years, and this is quite a sight. Haven't seen one which had damage on this scale. But taking a look at the rest of the photos, it's can be considered a moderate repair job, mainly to the nose area, compared to replacing an entire wing off a C-130, that is so much more work. These days when newer aircrafts are made out of composite material, I would love to see the effect of a bird strike on those.

Not really. The F111 is an excellent strike aircraft. Old and maintenance-intensive, yes, but they're very good at what they do. The Super Hornet, while a very capable multi-role aircraft, is slower, much shorter ranged, and carries a significantly smaller payload. They're not really a suitable replacement, but until the F35 is ready, they're probably the best option. The Super Hornet is a multi-role aircraft, though, so it will be useful for a wide range of missions, as opposed to the Aardvark, which is a dedicated attack aircraft.

Oh wow ^^;;;

After reading, I did some google and found out that the pelican after making a mess out of the plane's ray-dome got bounced and got straight into the starboard (right) engine cause it to fail and also cause some damages to the wing as well. The pilot manages to keep the plane airborne for about 30 minutes before performing good emergency landing at the nearest airfield.

Actually we know that already, now the question goes to what the hell did they make that plane out of? lol

good stuff though, damn, now we can just create the untimate anti-air defense. Release tons of birds at high altitudes and enemy planes will just crash into them and go down. cheap and simple, the perfect solution to out high defense budget.
