"A new Apple patent showing a head-mounted laser display surfaced today. The patent, which looks like a rather odd pair of sun glasses, would allow you to view video (or your Mac's screen) in a manner similar to the MyVu products. This patent also includes a geeky looking device that attaches to the belt, probably for image/video processing, and battery."
Could be a new iPod meaning that even if you wore this in public then no one would give you strange looks meaning that you can watch/view health related material just about anywhere - any takers?

it looks very odd...and cheap...

You have to remember, this is a patent application, not a granted patent, so the drawings only give the general explanation of how the device works. A company doesn't want to put detailed drawings and diagrams into a patent application, seeing as their competitors will steal idea if they do.
Frankly, I'm waiting for the version that's built into contacts.

This could be interesting, but might cause a lot of headaches in the process. Also, trying to watch a movie while walking could cause some dangerous situations.

Hmm... the secondary results of watching health-related materials out in public could prove awkward.. "Is that a bannana in your pocket, or are you watching what I think you're watching on that?"

yup same here. Ever since I watched and finished dennou coil, I was hoping somewhere in the near future, we glasses wearing people would be able to see holograms and stuff and pull things out of our pockets that make brick walls XP

Not until they go thru an ergonomic revamp, and look like actual glasses.

Yes Danny, I would love to be walking down town in public while looking at eroge stuff! *sarcasm*
I mean, I don't have time to look at it in my house, why not just ignore the 3D girls outside and just stare at more eroge outside! *more sarcasm*

Own few have the HUD/ Video Eyewear, I used to import them for retail in my country, but the response was not really up to my sales projection so I had to discontinue before losses. Cost only USD600+ & it's quit good for my PS2 output though. Graphic is 640X480 so it's quite limited to be use as a PC monitor replacement, but overall is a very handy gadget ;-)

Ugly as hell, and I wouldn't walk around in the public with these on. It could be pretty dangerous as you could walk into something, if you are looking at some health material. ^^;

Looks like a great way to get nearsighted. As if hearing loss wasn't enough of a problem with iPods.
