Taste has more pics in his review of these Idol Master trading figures by Alter. I dont usually pay attention to trading figures as I have not been a fan of the quality but these Alter figures look more than decent at just 650 yen each. Anybody here collect trading figures and if so are there any that you particularly recommend (to collect or avoid) ? More pics at Alter.
I like trading figures, but only buying if I'm a big fan of the anime/manga.
I'm not sure what kind they are, but I know you have one that's probably from the same company. It has the "H" for Haruhi on the base, but the trading figures don't have them colored in. I've gotten two that I'm not too proud of in terms of quality (Both of them were Mikuru too, how sad ; ( ) The parts that go into the holes on the base have been the problem both times, but that's the only downside in terms of those figurines that I've had. I have to say I love trading figurines because of the variants (There's on of Gintoki, a diabetic samurai. In one figurine he has a sword in one hand and a sheath in the other. and in the variant version he has a spoon in one and a strawberry sundae in the other.
I think they're very similar, if not in fact, gashapons:p Kinda pisses me off that the only figures of Negima are gashapon now that I think about 'em. Negima REALLY REALLY needs some figures made. *looks at danny* you've got connections in the industry, right? Chip in a little word for us :D
Uh, actually there was one Negima trading figure set, released a bit before the 1st anime series was released. They were based on the manga artwork (I think). http://www.figure.fm/post/3256/Negima%20Trading%20Figures%20from%20Konami/ They're tons better than those Figumate (SD) ones, I think. Anyways, you're right that they should've released some more & better trading figs (for the anime) by now...
They look so pale... Is it because of the background or are they really ill?
I think they are rather pale, but it also seems to be do to the light exposure. Could be just me though :s
I did spent alot on trading figures but in the end i give up because i have great luck of getting defected product such as lost an arm or have two legs (T_T) my Aqua's Akari has two left legs with no right leg and they easily get bended after a period of time.
lol sounds like un-deformed figures must be worth a lot.
Those looks nice! *However inexplicably and irresistibly shifts attention towards the Fate/Stay Night ones*
Noooo!!! Do not remind me of that horrible memory!!!!...
I didn't say anything... Not even mentioned Sad... Ooooops~ *Creepy smile*
For reasons now known, all references to "$@!$" figures should be done with Q-Joy *breaks out in hives* as the reference point. Apparently not many can withstand Sad3r-whoops.
I see that mentioning Q-Joy has an effect on you as well... You shouldn't have overdone it, I would have understood instantly... Oh well, too late I guess.
I collect trading figures of series that I like. The last ones i bought were in a anime shop in Orlando. I bought one Oh My Goddess bikni and one Rival School. I wanted to buy a bunch of oh my goddess ones, but i bought the last one. I ended up getting Skuld and Natsu. Have to finish both sets up.
Wow, those figures look really nice. As for myself, i'm getting some Ah my goddess trading figures tomorrow.
If I lived in Japan I'd probably buy some regularly... or find a way to buy the complete sets. But only from series I really liked probably...
...very decent...mass produced???....
that is good for TF series. i want it.....
Oh sweet, I have most of series one of these except for Yukiho ( ;_;). They came in two variant colors, black or silver and they're very well done...like miniature 1/8th figures (quality wise I mean). They cost quite a bit to purchase, don't think my wallet has the strength to withstand another barrage of these.
Now that's extremely detailed trading figures!!! I rarely see detailed trading figure!!! For that price!!! I would get it!!!
these are considered as gashapons, right?
no, trading figures aren't like gashapons. gashapons are much smaller, and what you would expect to find in those machines that you put coins in and turn the knob. but in both cases, the chances of you getting something is totally random, so you may end up with extras.
how about nendoroids??
Nope, not nendoroids, since you choose what you want and you pay for those only... The 'trading' part dosen't have much to do with nendoroids... However, it might be a different case with the nendoroid petit...
Petit Nendoroids are definitely blind box trading figures.
I need to see the figure in my hands so I'll probably avoid these unless I go to an actual shop and see them....
Hmm... those are pretty good. If I see them in a set, I'll probably buy them.
Those look pretty good, if I can find separate ones for the chars I like maybe I'll get one. I'm not too big on trading figures now since I almost never get one I want. :( The last time I got one was the Code Geass Portraits, I got Suzaku. He was alright, the quality was better than I thought.
I got 2 mecha musume girls and the quality of the figure is so-so~ As long as the figure can stand, cute and donesn't look anything like Sader or Q-Joy, I'l buy...
I'm like you Danny, don't really like them for quality reasons. But still, at that low price it might just be funny to buy one if you have a dime to spare I guess.
Trading figures? What's that?
Been thinking for getting this 13 pieces Idolmaster figure set... But then again, when I look at the price makes my wallet jump of heart attack... lol xD
I used to be a big trading figure buyer before I could get my hands on bigger figures. The Xenosaga trading figures I have are of very good quality. Very pretty too. Price is a major factor on trading figures for me. £3-4 good, £5 is a bit pricy, £8 which is what I got my Xenosaga fig for. But she's 4 inches tall, so it was worth it.
now those look nice with a equally nice price tag... kinda rare to find trading figures with that kinda quality nowadays...
No interest. Well, not after seeing Tempestas in action anyways.
Really cute trading figures, Alter`s art is improvent with time, but I`ll pass, I even not know the game(Idol Master is a game, right?) very well
I like to collect trading figures, there are lots of great sets out there. I particularly like the 'One Coin' series by Kotobukiya - good quality at a great price.
Kotobukiya's Armored Core and Good Smile Company's Fate Stay Night trading figure are some of the best I had. Both are difficult to find in my country.
the trading figure i got so far was only on fate/stay night and type moon trading figure. Thinking to get more in the future :p.
