Doggie Bag

Doggie Bag
Doggie Bag has a different meaning in Japan - it means to put your dog *in* a bag.
Are dogs carried in bags in your region?

Yes, in California we see much of those blonde girls or ladies carrying their purses with their little doggies inside.

Dog in a bag? Don't tell that to my dog, he's so lazy as it is, he might start trying to climb in my mother's purse. LOL!

I'd rather dress my dog up as a parrot, then put him on my shoulder.
I would totally get alot of chicks attention with that set-up.

What a horrible thing to do to a dog. From what I've heard, it can cause considerable psychological trauma to treat a pet like an object like that.

it's becoming more and more popular, and not in just in LA or new york, but even here in oklahoma. unless the dog is sick, or can't walk, i see no reason to keep it in a dog carrier.

Yea, it's very common to see little kiosks in malls or stores (especially in the higher end parts of the city) selling dog and cat fashion items. They have bags and clothes for pets and giant cushions. I think it's weird though...

What a disgrace to dogs. That's how destructive we humans can be. We have warped and distorted the species beyond recognition and to think that nearly all domestic dogs came from something as magnificent as the WOLF. DOGS AREN'T TOYS!!!!!

Am expecting flak from this post......so I'll rest my case at that.

A terribly common sight here in Taibei. I suppose since the city is crowded and most people live in apartments, having a small dog makes sense if you're going to have a dog at all. Yet, the transformation of a dog into an accessory – how sad.

"Miniature" dogs seem to still be in the minority around North America save for the "fashionistas types." Around these parts dogs are quite large breeds and would not fit in a carry bag (or they might but then the bag would be much too heavy to carry).
