The Japanese police take their work very seriously. When they are not being caught downloading open source movies at work or making Hi Tech unmanned police booths, they are hard at work designing mascots. These are police mascots - one for each prefecture in Japan. Which reminds me - should I also introduce a Haro type robot or pet character for Mirai? You will notice that many anime has one - take that pui pui thing in Clannad for example. Via Neta。

Mirai's plenty mascot on her own, but the dolphin idea's alright if you're determined to add another character. Perhaps it could even be "Danny the Dolphin?"

I have to agree with "Danny" the dolphin. Since Danny gets to play with Mirai in real life, it is only fair that she gets to turn the tables on him in the anime.
It would be interesting a pet for the web´s pet. A dolphin ceirtenly gets the spirit for certain posts. Could it be made a pet that gets a mayor role in a section of the web? Following the same example, the dolphin appearing in the eroge, nsfw posts, instead of the cute mirai.

Ah, you mean Botan, Kyou's pet? ... Yeah, a pet, mascot or familiar (huh?) would be nice. Since we have been talking about dolphins for a while and that: 1) There has been plushies in her (fake) eroge screenshots; 2) chun has featured one in her great flash-based dressing game; ...the obvious choice would be a cetacean. However I'd like to see a dove or cat as an alternative. ^^
Make it a lion. Just think of the fun that would ensue as would-be-suitors try to charm Mirai with a lion hanging around.

Since Mirai means future. I was wondering about a fantasy like pet. Take at To Love Ru, the Alien girl has a cool looking bot. So I was wondering, maybe Mirai should having something cool. A new redesigned Dolphin sounds like a good idea since most Danny Choonians here likes it. ^^; Dolphin with cute lil' wings? o.o

This reminds me of how free the Japanese Police force can get... just last week I witnessed 12 Japanese policemen in 2 patrol cars and a van turning up to 'arrest' a drunken man who wasn't even resisting...
You know, a drunken man can be quite dangerous to deal with. I know because I've seen one and kung-fu films don't lie! :-D Maybe they were sick of all the office work and just wanted to do something less boring for a change.

If we wanted to follow the anime more closely the obvious thing to say is, Mirai came from a futuristic society with the capability to make complex and space saving designs, which are also applied to computers/robots. Therefore she could have a nifty little robot companion which can take the form of the miniature dolphin. Not sure why though, unless Sorunia has a creature resembling a dolphin. :/ Though maybe too obvious, perhaps just a bioengineered minature dolphin...even from 2009?

One thing I have noticed with Nara-ken's mascots is that they are all related to the deer. I wonder if a similar thing is common for other mascots from similar prefectures.
