Asumanga has more pics of this Kaiyodo Fraulein figure of Pocco that just came out. Nice rendition of Shunya's illustration but the eyes kind of like are staring into space - or is it just me. Eyes as in optical eyes. Any takers for this figure? Has Yamashita-san stopped blogging?
the one thing i don't like about the Fraulein line is that all the figures have really wide faces and their eyes (ones used for sight) are really far apart. This particular figure's neck is really long and you're right, the eyes seem to be staring off into space. I'm passing on this and all future Frauleins until they correct these problems.
indeed kind sir... but overall the figure is decent and looks good
hmmm the shoulder joint really can be better ^^; also face and eyes (on the face)= blah ^^;
You're right that shoulder is so standing out. >_<
She looks like she's trying to stare a hole through your head... the joints are also more visible here than any other of the Figma lines I've seen :(
it think it's better than before. but it still can't beat figma series
Nah what wrong with her is that she have a long neck...and too clorful to me
Revoltech figures seems to have a bad habit of having long necks... My Saber has a longer neck than my Dark Saber, dammit...
looks cool enough for me. another gripe though (apart from those already mentioned) is that the ribbon on her right hand is stiff. it detracts from the figure when you raise her hand.
Nice. But yeah, she seems to be staring at nowhere... you know, like when we get distracted and our vision is kinda out of focus. But I liked her. The work on knee joints is great... elbows not that great, but far better than those idolmaster figures. But right now, my brain can only think of that nendoroid Hatsune Miku right now. My brain and many others it seems... http://en.akibablog.net/archives/2008/04/nendoroid-miku-080401.html
What the!?? It's sooo different from the pro production pic! I want my money back!!! >=(
Looks like she still needs a lot of work, especially on details like the joints & some anatomical details (eyes, figure) but ill definately take this one. Im a fan of Shunya Yamashita's work, i even have his illustration book ordered and delivered here (already in my collection now). Once thats done, ill break out my trusty magnifying glass to enjoy the more finer points of the workmanship & details of this loveable figure. XD
can't wait for mine to arrive...but it looks like it'll be awhile. it looks more like shes cross eyed from the pictures.
nah i pass thank u!! i also agree that's the 1st thing i noticed eyes looks weird!!!
Her eyebrows are too high. That's what looks so odd.
already preordered like... months ago... yeah, the eyes are nto up to shunya standart. Let's see if I can modify it somehow
I like my fraulein rei ayanami so I think this won't be so bad. I will get it.
Word to accurately describe her look would be "deadpan"...
pocco ga hoshikunai. ><
Looks great. It's in my order list. Don't see nothing wrong with the eyes. My only worry is the tied 'ribbon' in front of her. If it's made out of hard material, it might impede poseability like the skirt on Revoltech Rin.
And please people, it's a USD25 action figure, not a USD70-80+ PVC figure. Don't group and compare an apple and an orange in the same category. If you see it as just an action figure, you'd probably complain less about dolljoints, and the fact that it cost 25 bucks, this is the best quality it could offer.
still, figma > revoltech in terms of facial expressions.
True, I agree on that. Figma also chose currently popular series as their product line, hence their preorders and sales go up like hotcakes. I'm afraid I may have to miss out on Figma Saber. ;_; One can only imagine what would happen once Figma Hatsune Miku is on preorder.
Don't think the skirt will be too much of a problem. It's loose around her waist.
She looks kinda awesome, and the poses you can do should be cool. Though, her eyes are kinda dull.
sorry, need to pass on this one
She keeps...staring...at me...
Those eyes are creeping me out @_@
LOL, she has beam eyes! NO! Don't shoot me!
Sigh... The Fraulein series has such potential... But if all their released figures keep popping their joints out during normal play, I may switch allegiances to Figma (and it's already started with three pre-orders). That, and I wish they had more "expression" on their expressions. Regardless, I'm still getting this figure.
I have one on order. I really don't mind the joints and such. Pocco's going to be my fourth Revoltech figure, second out of the Frauline series. Although looking back at some of the pre-production photos of the Pocco figure, her face did look a little bit better back then than it does in these sets of pictures. If anything, I can always try to sell the figure if I don't like how it ends up looking.
I'll definitely dislike this figure... Not only has she kept this vacant look and this weird hairstyle, but she also seems to have dislocated her arms. Too bad, the rest seems nice.
Well, as a true apprentice of Yamashita-sensei, I'll buy whatever figure he released, as long it's wallet friendly ^_^ Oh yeah, I lol-ed when you say "eyes as in optical eyes". Seem like you managed to create another meaning of the word "eyes"
Yeah, this figure looks disinterested in just about every pose you put her in. Pass.
