Q: What happens when a young kid gets injured on live TV doing stunts? A: Play it down big time. The clip on Japan Probe was removed but here is another one which TBS will no doubt ask YouTube to remove. If you fail to see it, just do a search for "TBS." A Japanese comment for that vid says "its only a small cut - stop screaming." Looks like no small cut to me and must have been bad to bleed that much in that short amount of time.Image from Japan Probe.
Somehow that looks more like an open wound. Telling people to stop screaming is a bit too over-the-board, there :( He's still a kid, for God's sake.
minor wounds in head bleed a lot, when I was a child my brother and I bled a lot as a result of games, but it's not that dangerous. Accidents happens everywhere, but people is overreacting as expected.
It's just a small cut, really. Being a martial artist as he is i'm sure he's had much worse, notice his lack of reaction.
Not a reason to not treat his wounds. "Oh let him bleed a bit, he's a martial artist, no big deal". ^^
Lol, no one said shouldn't 'treat' it. The important thing is that there is no impact to the head, which there didn't appear to be. Definately not worth screaming about. I bleed like that once in a while, just tape it up and keep going.
"Just a flesh wound" - Black knight
My thoughts too!
Never thought that kind of stuff would happen...Martial artists bleeding like that... Guess they remain human after all. And they spend twenty seconds trying to reassure the public instead of sending the kid to the infirmary without delay. Very particular attitude if you ask me as I am more of a "Hey, I don't give a damn about the public shame, safety first" type.
Btw this is supposed to be a promo for the movie you mentioned before, if I'm not mistaken.
It probably really isn't all that terrible. Even minor head wounds bleed like a fountain, without being very deep. Regardless, it's too bad that making kids do stunts resulting in injury serves as entertainment nowadays.
Get him to a hospital !! This reminds me when I busted my head and had to have stiches.
yeah, any shallow wound on the head will lead to a pretty unpleasant sight. seen it way too often during football matches. but still telling a kid to shut it when something like that happens, shame shame.
ouch!!! its all i can say...
That's horrible... Still bleeding on the stage, why don't let that kid go to background and accept the trentment immediately? omg. That emcee still talk with the bleeding kid =.=
wow and they still had the time to be chatting around instead of getting the kid immediate medical attention... poor kid...
LOL, I couldn't stop laugh because a similar thing happened to me and my friend on a Nativity Play XD The roof of the farm in the manger scene got knocked down by the closing curtains, it swung into our face and both of us were left with bleeding noses XD another kid with a bleeding forehead ^^;;;
wow.. I'm speechless... the boy looks so calm lolx
Indeed. Not to proud of the lack of immediate medical response, But I can't help but commend the boy's lack of losing composure despite the head wound. Most kids his age would be freaking out.
Result of extensive mental training. An average kid would have run in circles and cried for his/her mom like if he/she lost in the supermarket.
I dunno, there is a lot of blood, but that doesn't necessarily mean the cut is bad. His heart rate is up, which means his blood pressure goes up. That could explain the amount of blood. Yes he got hurt, but then again he doesn't seem to be in much pain. Just rub some dirt on it and walk it off.
That looks rather serious ._.', I still cant tell how his wounded though.
Ouch, that seems kinda bad. Though, the kid looks pretty fine, creds to him.
He is a warrior. He figths even bleeding.
oh gosh poor thing o_o they really should had brought him some medical aid O_O!
Hmm, more curious as to when he got hit. Wish the video was more clear. He's got balls, didn't even show that he got hit until later. But then again, those Shaolin trained kids go through a heck of a lot more.
Head wounds over bleed anyway, always seems worse then it is. He looks fine and did go off with a towel to stop the bleeding. Well done at kids professional behavior
Nostalgic to happened....i still can remember i hit my head on a window panel while going for my next class and my head bleeds like a fountain....
Poor little kid. I cut my head once when I was like 6yro. And that bled a lot!!!
Anyone else seeing the Mirai Ad? http://www.nitroplus.co.jp/pc/lineup/into_17/index.php I don't think I heard of this yet, looking at the page it looks like something being released for Windows. NitroPlus releasing a Mirai Game?
yup! it must be just uploaded! will be looking forward on it waiting the anime too!
I remember danny saying he had something to do with Mirai, but didn't say anything more after that post. There is an Mirai anime?
this miria anime information is here http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/eng/801/Mirai+gets+her+own+Anime%21/ though the comment say it sounds like an a April Foul joke, but i dont think so. I mean who will go through the trouble of drawing the the scenario work to foul people? hmm Mirai is going to release a game on Nitro+? would it be a H-game?
At the bottom of the page is says that will be released on Feb 16, 2009 and in red it says "Under 18 cannot purchase.
I love these to pics http://www.mariendistel.org/img/miraclemirai.jpg http://www.nitroplus.co.jp/pc/lineup/img/lineup_17.jpg
so that is why Danny said something" but i cant tell what is the use" in previous on design her pose. Just wish it has Eng ver for the game. "right click; save"
I remember in a recent post that Danny was asking if you would buy h-games if they had english translated versions of it. Now we see this...It seems like Danny might be considering it or whatever.
the next thing i want is a 1/8 mirai figure! man...how many profit will Danny get from selling the game? he is getting rich!! Do we get discount if we order via this website?
I would have been freaking out if I was that young with my head bleeding. Maybe it's happened to him numerous times?
Just in case this hasn't been mentioned, I looked through the video to try and see where he got hit, and as far as I can tell, the guy at 0:38 hits him hard with his "weapon" and then backs away. If I just smacked the kid like that, I'd back out of there pretty quickly too :)
Wow, good eye. I had to watch twice just to see what you saw. I believe that is the wound instance, I was mistaken in thinking the "fall to the ground" at about 42 seconds, was the wound. But, I think you're right.
you're sharp o_o I think I heart a loud sound when he hit the boy's head OUCH o_o; (after taking another look)
'tis but a flesh wound!
In their defense, he is a martial artist...how many times do you think he got hurt training? If you think none, you are probably wrong! Also as somebody mentioned, head wounds are also faster to bleed and bleed more. Of course, I sympathize with the kid, but I don't know what could have been done in this situation either.
Seems like the actors overdid their acting... From the looks of it, seems like child exploitation to me. The kid is skilled in his craft, no doubt about that, but at the very least he should have been given some medical care for his wounds, no matter how small it is... and the TV-show hosts failed that... shame on them l00s3rs.. TV-entertainment is imho, nothing but marketing stupidity, but thats just me (not all entertainment is bad though). Seen enough of this sh*t back home in my paradise home of Philippines, and i really hate it. Children should be doing what they like best on their own, and in their own way, not for the amusement of parents and the general public. If this was done in Norway, it would be branded as illegal and punishable by law. Norway has very strict child-protection laws, which i'm grateful that they have. sorry for this long post, but i gotta spill out whats on my mind right now.
I can agree with what many people already said, about head wounds often bleeding far more than their actual damage worth. And yes, a martial artist such as this kid will experience a couple thousand wounds like this. BUT, at the same time, it's the little things like this that are the reasons for child protection laws, especially theater/TV/Movie actors. In the U.S., such a display of "the show must go on!" would gain that television show a fine. Child Protection since the cute little girl in Pologiest died on stage, has dramatically increased in the U.S. Too bad it isn't so OFF stage.
This kind of crap happens on American television as well. Something bad obviously happens, and rather than the hosts show concern or address the problem, they completely ignore it and move on to make sure their job isn't in jeopardy. I would respect the reporter even more so if they stopped the crap and show genuine concern towards their guests or address a mix up.
That was only a slight wound, no need to scream about such injury.. If you think that is bad, go and tell that to the stunt actors/actress.. They have the worst injuries sustained when doing stunts.. And I will wish the boy a good recovery..
Poor kid, but i give him kudos for keeping up with his performance when he was injured. I'm 19, and if that was me i'd make such a huge scene cause i'm trippy like that :D
i remember cutting my head just a few years ago. i've never seen so much blood. i thought i was gonna pass out. who knew such a tiny eeety beeety cut could bleed so much.
Bleeding from the head is probably one of the worst places to bleed.
That was hardcore, and I don't blame the adults for that.
Small cut, hard head and it blead alot .. the lady did try and cover it up though which was the only bit that made it dodgy.
Its probably a small cut. Theirs alot of blood because he was just exercising and his heart is pumping harder and faster so blood will naturally come out.
Something they were probably prepared and expecting to happen. In fact, judging by the kids moves, he trained very hard on kung-fu. And during training, getting hurt is pretty common. But the staff probably took him away from the screen quickly because paramedics prepared to deal with such things were already in place to treat him. I see this is probably some promo for the movie about the kung-fu kid Danny posted sometime ago. And that's exactly why I said in that post that I feel kids shouldn't be expose to adult's business.
Notice how you do not see the woman who wiped her hand on his head showing her palm caked in blood... And, I do that roll move between the enemies legs all the time to escape capture. ;)
Even if it's just a scrtch, it would have been good if the host asked or a commercial break... During that break maybe they could have bandaged him up and make him look like a mummy... You could get some laughs from that... They want to have a lively atmosphere no?
Hi all....Long time reader, 1st time poster :) Just thought I'd let you know that cuts on the scalp bleed like mad, no matter how minor... So it could easily be a very minor cut... Looks like it too. :)
The boy wins my respect.
just for proper knowledge, its possible that its a small cut because the blood vessels on the surface of the head are under very high pression. So yeah its still very concerning even if the cut is small. Although people shouldnt really get too agitated because it'll only make it worst. Oh and on another note this cut is probably close to nothing as to what the boy could've suffered on his training. (Just like Jackie Chan had thousands of injuries XD)
yeah when i was a kid i played hide and seek and when i stood up from my hiding place i hit my head on something. It wasnt such a big deal but my head was a blood fountain. So it just LOOKED like it hurt like hell.
I hit my right temple against a truck as I tried to slip in between two parked trucks on a bike...when I look on this event I think I frickin' lucky I am...
Kung Fu kun is a tough boy.
Looks like the kids hurt bad, but as they say " If you make a big deal out of any injury youll just panic the kid"
