Japanese Value Food

Japanese Value Food
For those who would rather spend money on goodies than eat, know that you can find places that do value meals like these.
For example, the top left corner mound of rice and spaghetti costs only 950 yen.
Do any of these dishes look appetizing to you?

sorry i saw this on tv the other day at the same time a Gyaru Sone program was on and was just disgusted. These eating shows are ridiculous... where people force in excessive amount of food into their stomachs for entertainment purposes. In case people have forgotten "FAMINE" is still real problem on the planet. and here these people are over dulging to extremes. Sorry to inject some realism into this.

Never tried rice-spaghetti combo.. does not appeal much to me. For me it is one or the other in soup or with a ton of sauce (Thousand Island, BBQ, Mayo, Ketchup, Tomato sauce, either of your choice, but only one at a time) ^^
And please, no salt or pepper added.

I'm not a person that would skim on food, but when I was in Japan for the first time last year, I found that the most of the food there was either too sweet or just doesn't look appitiezing enough to be eaten. Even for the junk food in the supermarket!

I did enjoyed myself fully at a REAL sushi bar in Shinjuku(as oppose to the B.S.Sushi bar on belt places you would find all over Singapore). And I remember a little sabo place underground in SHinjuku as well that lets you grain real fresh wasabi into your sabo...can't remember how huch they cost, but definitely not "Value Meals".

Oh man, all that stuff looks amazing... I would drool if I just didn't eat dinner right now.

I actually had spaghetti and rice before, and I don't particularly like the taste of sauce and white rice together. It just doesn't seem right, not to mention that it seems kind of redundant that you have two carbohydrate-rich grains at the same time.

Then again, I do like rice noodles and white rice together. Hmmm...

And I thought that my daily meals were odd enough...
Take tonight's meal for example (a classic of mine):
Rice, salad leaves (preferably lettuce), tuna, carrots and Thousand Island sauce. Filtered water for drink (sodas never, sometimes apple juice w/ vitamin C added) and milk and cereals for dessert.
If you find it yucky, no problem. ^^;

While I do have many different reasons for wanting to visit Japan, the food is certainly rather high on the list. In real life for me, I eat two meals a day (yes, I know that's bad, but I can't make the effort to change it), but if I traveled to Japan, I honestly think I might eat four times a day during the trip.

Those portions look GREAT to me. I would like to try almost all the items that show there, with the exceptions of those that include Cabbage (three that I see).

They probably don't look that much appetizing because... well, first, the food is pretty plain.
But mainly, because there's too much food. And you can't help imagining how bad you would feel after eating that much food.

But I would eat stuff like that. Gather some friends, and eat "collectively".

Apart from the presentation and all, it's not much different from a cheap restaurant, and considering these plates can feed at least 2 people (probably more), it's pretty cheap indeed.
