"Travel abroad" - thats how folks aged 20 replied when asked in a survey "What would you do if you had 300,000 yen (about 3000USD). The second most popular answer was "save it" and third came "travel domestically." Hmmm. If I had that sum to spend on what I want I would probably pay an extra 80,000 yen and get a Papermoon Haruhi. How would you spend your acquired 3000 USD?
Put it in a bank account and rake benefits with time! And with the latter, buy stuff I'd like, ^^; but also donate a bit to charities?
The same things, I will do. ^^
same here ^_^ great minds think alike xD
was just thinking the same thing ^^
I dont know, 3000 USD isnt really all that much. I would probably buy some performance parts for my car or motorcycle.. and just bank the rest into an IRA or Roth IRA.. .or maybe mutual fund contributions (think tax deductions people.. well, if you are old enough to that is).
Oh and surely give a part to my parents... It would not be motivated by traditional obligation though.
If its me, half would go to savings/unit trust/etc, while the other half for travel/enjoy/Dolfie.. Dolfie? oh shi!!!
all you secrets belong to us.LOL
BUY LOTS AND LOTS OF CHOCOLATE!!! or SPEND IT IN JAPAN WHEN I GET THERE THIS WEEK!!! XD
I'm going to Japan this week too ^^
what you city you going to be staying in?
I would: -Buy myself all the electronics I've always wanted. -Go to Japan. -Save the rest. Simple as that!
definitely go japan again LOL
First priority! Go to Japan, then buy a lot of stuffs in Akihabara... Second, I wanna upgrade my comp and buy a few of 1 TB HDD for more space... xD
man it was a mission just bring all the stuff back when i went there. would i do it again hell yea if i bring some friends. took me like a week to find the post office over there as they use a T'ish symbol while new zealand use a letter symbol and australia uses a P
Save up to spend on my next trip to Japan... because 3000USDs ain't enough for a trip to Japan.
i 2nd that.
hmm i think its enough imo. i went there 7 days and bought a camera and spent only around 1.7k sgd(everything included)
Take a trip to japan of course.
Spend 2 weeks in Hokkaido snowboarding, then go on a shopping spree in Akiba ^^.
Invest in stocks, hopefully make some money off of the investment, keep rolling over the money till I have enough for a NICE trip to Japan.
a third on stuff, a third to savings and a third to charity. This way everyone wins.
i'd invest it so I can buy EVEN MORE stuff mwahahahhahahahahahah
i 2nd that, but most likely it won't work on me, it will be spent in seconds
get a HY2M Gundam... since with 300,000 yen one can only afford to buy half a candy girl. ^^
Watch it disappear in an instant when I hurl it at my student loans. :(
300,000 yen isn't alot of money... if anything I'd look into some form of investment... but as I said... 300,000 yen isn't really alot of money =[... so you can't really get anything big with that...
Agreed. The cost of anything fantastic has skyrocketed. I would just put it in the bank incase of a slow month of sales.
College fund. Yeah, I'm boring :X
Add it together with my other 3,000,000 Yen
Buy car parts, to finish my mustang!
Fujitsu Stylistic® ST5112 slate Tablet PC all the way. I would be drawing everywhere restroom restraunt school park libarary etc
$1000 -- savings $2000 -- PS90 and a can
spend half save half.
invest in some trust funds or gold stocks, profit goes to purchasing more figures and gundams
I'd probably save a good portion of that (around 3/4ths, maybe) and use the rest on whatever I want. I've been using that strategy for a while now, and it hasn't failed me (yet ;p ).
3000USD aint a lot. U cant do everything u want. I might as well save it or spent it on some gunpla or figures.
Save a part, spend a part on most-needed figures ^^
Go to Japan DEFINITELY. Just a question for the people here visiting japan. How many days do you usually stay in japan? and an average of how much are you guys/gals spending all in all? :D
As I wrote below, I usually bring $3000 for the trip to Japan. I do come to Japan bearing in mind to buy lots of stuffs and since I always come to Japan in time for Comic Market. I think staying for 2 weeks is usually good enough but maybe 3 weeks if you are coming to Japan for the first time. I think I spend about $1000 for food/hotel/transportation and rest of the money for buying stuffs. If you come to Japan for mostly sightseeing and maybe refrain from buying alot, maybe about $1000-1500 is good perhaps(but it's hard to restrain yourself from shopping in Japan). Also $3000 does not include airfare, it's purely for spending in Japan.
if i have that kind of money...i'll cut them accordingly: 1. Deposit it to a bank and rake in the benefits 2. Buy some shares in the stock market 3. Use some as capital for a business ^^
well 3000USD is not a really humongous amount but still its a blessing to suddenly get it so... 1. treat myself to some gadgets..maybe a ps3 2. buy lottery...now this is called future investment 3. put half in bank 4. buy simca-san coldcast figure http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT34452 5. keep quite and dont tell my gf muaakakakakakak
I'll give it all to charity... Nah... Maybe donate some of it, $2 seems about right... The rest of the money will go into the bank or spend it on figures and games.... I AM EVIL WAHAHAHAHA!
...keep quiet about the money from ur gf.....you are quite evil indeed...
Upgrade to a new PC / Travel to japan
$3000 is the exact amount which I always bring for my trips to Japan. And I always leave Japan spending most of the $3000, I tried to save some money but I seriously cannot save much and I end of spend all of it -_- One time, I had 23yen left over from $3000...
That money would be enough to go to Japan, pay for my collage,figures...
Put 50% into the bank and take the next 50%, split half for my family (prevents squabbles) and spend the other half.
Bid For a Geisha!
use it all up on lottery tickets and hope for the best.
maybe u will strike a lottery prize of 200000 yen
then i guess I'll just have to repeat it over and over until I become Bill gates or a beggar in the streets
Probably using on my Boba Fett suit. It's pretty expensive. ^^;
300000Yen! wow, Thats like my spending money in tokyo alone, probably not enough :)
Papermoon Haruhi's are only 380000yen? Thats like, $380 which is only £190 in the UK!! Duuuuuuude, thats no where near as expensive as I thought... you can get dollfie which cost WAAAAAAAY more!!!
Ack, god...realise my mistake. MAJOR misread..... £1900. More than I'd be willing to spend on a doll lol. I would take that money and probably use it for a trip to Japan. Or save it, or both, or just buy all the figures and manga etc I've always wanted.
Pay off the small bills, buy myself a little something, then save the rest for an eventual trip to Japan.
bills are a necessary evil, unfortunately. if i found 3,000, bills would be the first thing i'd take care of and then the rest i'd spend on candy and comic books. :P
buy enough figurines to bury myself under
That amount seem too little to enjoy great spending with it. There are many financial investments out there offering way higher interest rate than the banks, so dont just "lend" your money to the banks alone.
Fly to Japan and stay there longer. Hope I'd pack enough memory stick and spare batteries cuz' I'll go into a picture snapping frenzy. Get a bigger luggage to store all of my haul in Akihabara and elsewhere.
I will use the whole money to build a mini version of the Gundam statue.. That will look nice in my living room..
I'd buy some presents to pamper my loved ones, and then save some for the trip to my hometown I'm having with them in some months. ~^_^~
I'd definitely use it for a trip to Japan.
Hookers.
lol awesome
how many hookers can you get with 3000 dollars anyway
Depends if they try to steal your wallet in the morning.
depends on a real or fake girl hooker...
Hmm, I would say go to Japan but $3k isn't really enough to go to Japan and enjoy yourself, so I would spend it on figures or Gunpla.
buy over dannychoo.com? ('~')
banks here give crappy interest rates. :-(
I would buy a new TV and a new computer. =D
I'm putting my 300,000 Yen all on black! A spin of the roulette wheel is how I live my life ;)
I'd gamble it on a Pachinko machine with each ball worth 4000 yen (any Kaiji readers?)... ... Or, disregarding the land of fiction, spend it all on a trip to Japan and then invest in some Otaku goods. I'd keep some spare and then when Christmas comes along treat my family and friends with presents that are more expensive than I'd usually buy,
Id probably gamble with it like those college students in that new movie coming out soon(I don't remember the name) and spend my first winnings on college fund-sorry college is my main priority-and spend the rest on a trip to Japan!
the movie is titled "21" and it looks pretty darn cool too.
On getting a decent place in Akihabara for myself (even if I had to pay extra, just to be the owner). Then I would just continue to live there a happy life
hmm, add them to the money I am saving for trip to japan :) cauze it aint soo much of a sum
yo me lo gastaria en plamos, figuras, una superdollfie suiguintou y un aerografo de doble ación y pinturas tamiya
Hihihihi that's exactly what I'm going to do in a few weeks....heading to Tokyo-de on the 5th of may with that exact amount of Yen.....;)
I'd say "save it," but I know, if I REALLY did get that $3,000 I would most likely spend it; most likely on traveling abroad.
save half and invest the rest lol =03 then reap the rewards
Fapping.
Would save half, and use the other half to pay off part of my car loan. I'm boring like that. Of course, there is a part of me that would just want to blow it all on a trip to Japan...
Bills. I am so poor....
I'd travel to Tokyo or then save a bit more and buy for example used Nissan Skyline.
