This Mario is a bit too real for my liking ^^; BTW, which out of all the Mario series did you enjoy best? I personally liked the Super Famicom version and Super Mario Basket Ball on the NDS was good too. Played Mario Galaxy on the Wii recently and got dizzy. Real Mario via xorsyst, Mario Galaxy Wii below.Super Mario World SNES below.Mario Basket Ball NDS below.
Oh dear, I think I personally prefer good ol' Nintendo's Mario, rather like you said, too real.
Same here, mario was my first nintendo game followed by rockman. But if I were to prefer, it'll be super mario brothers world for snes.
ヂット。^^
Yikes. from the looks of it Mario really let himself go eh?
the 3D GFX is superb but a bit creepy @@ i love "The Super Mario Bros" on the famicom and Super Mario World for the super famicom ^_____^
Super Mario World is to me THE best mario ever. One of the first SNES games but still in the top 10. I still greatly enjoy playing that.
I don't prefer to see the real Mario although I find Super Mario Galaxy fun to play.. I prefer to play Mario on a Nintendo DS in 2D..
Through me a SNES and Super Mario World anyday over the "real" Mario.
The evolution of Mario. Sooner or later, it might happen. Who knows.
I haven't enjoyed any Mario games; not my cup of tea. Yes...I've played through most of them...and yes, I do love video games...and yes, it's just my opinion.
Yay. I finally meet someone who doesn't enjoy Mario games ^^;
Doesn't enjoy Mario games as well* Ack! for typos. BTW- I like the LIVE ACTION MARIO MOVIE~ lol. Did anyone watch that? ^^;
I wonder what they had in mind to create such a spaced out movie... One of the weirdest adaptations of a game (another good choice would be Double Dragon).
That's Mario "after" he got ported to Xbox360 from Wii. Too real.
hmmm i would choose the mario 64 ._. lol paper mario 1 was also good too, a bit fun. and ummmm. not sure about the rest. may be mario sunshine
Mario64 is my all time fav Mario game, the new Mario Galaxy on the wii is fun too. Is that what a retired Mario would look like? the big nose and eyes are kind of freaking me out.
Super Mario 64 was my favorite as well. I must've spent hours trying to launch myself from the castle roof into the nonexistent secret island I'd heard about. Oh, the foolishness of youth...
I think my all time favorite Mario are Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World. I did not play much of the Mario once it went 3D. Not that I hate the Mario in 3D but I did not get N64 console and so forth.
....creepy...I perfer to be normal...
Nah, looks like a bum. I prefer the normal one. And my favorites in the series would be Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros.
I like a burly Mario http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/4467/marioju0.jpg

The first pic you posted is a very nice rendition :D Would love to see the blocks become real like that hehe
"- Mario, you got such big eyes! - It's to see you better my child... - Mario, you got such a big nose! - It's to smell pizza and pasta better! - Mario, you look so old there... - Oh, crap, forgot the makeup!" I only loved the old Mario games, especially Super Mario Bros. 2 (I always enjoyed different recipes/black sheep of series... Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is another game I do appreciate). Super Mario Bros. 1 & 3, Land 1 & 2 as well. Never enjoyed World (Hated when Yoshi was running away when hit) and tried Sunshine that I disliked almost instantly... I feel that the moment Mario, Princess Peach and co. got the voice treatment (I especially hate the Princess's voice), my passion for Mario waned. The End.
Ah, the voice problem, the realism problem... Old schoolers like us have learned to appreciate and even love the beauty of simple designs in low specs... Yes, the voice is something that can screw those initial mute memories... It is like, what could happen if Touhou got voices all of sudden, could it be the same...our same Sakuya? These youngsters today, with their technologies and awesome graphics, forgetting the true feelings and meanings behind...that faraway time, when you did not need realistic looking animations nor sequences to get the feeling, when the games went directly to your heart, and all the imagery completed there...ah, to be young again...
Times passed by like a raft on a tumultuous river, my old-schooler's heart reminisces of the past, clinging to old experiences that refuse to be washed away. Nothing can replace those feelings of wonder and bewilderment when discovering whole new worlds opening before me. Nowadays young ones take things for granted and frown or ridicule the past without even considering the splendor of simple things. Oh, games long gone by... You may not attract the masses anymore, but you will remain in my heart and memories.
Even though I'm relatively young I understand where you two are coming from. The next-gen console games I've played didn't appeal me at all, it's all about the graphics for the youngsters, Crysis is one of the best examples imo.
OMG Thats scary.... I'm gonna show that too my little bro when he gets home. Bwhahahaha he sleeps with mario and luigi plush toys!!
Personal favorite is Mario Bros 3. Super Mario World for SNES was beautiful too. Nice long game play. But the beauty of the Original Mario Bros 3 was the fact you cant SAVE. It forces you to stay in front of that TV for 6+ hours -KAZU
Seconded. The save option first available in Super Mario All Stars defeated the purpose of being in front of the screen for hours and hours (even if there were those legendary magic recorders/flutes... With a reference to the original Zelda!)
Almost as scary as the real sonic the hedgehog, nightmare inducing D;
I just hope real Mario won't jump on turtle's (and people's) heads for real. ^^ To be honest back in the 16 bit era I preferred Sonic over Mario. It's a pity that most of the newer Sonic games suck.
Eek; I prefer Nintendo's. Well, you've got to give the dude credit; he DOES look the part. Shave the stubble.
he is like soooo hairy...luckily there's no hair in his ears
Heh, not exactly as endearing as the "real" Mario, but I'm sure he'd make a fine grandparent never the less.
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! This is mario?? he's a freak.. i play mario on SNES & NDS. But that one is scary...
soo real itts weird **shudders** i think il stick to the SNES version
i remember watching the mario cartoon when i was a kid. anyone else? ('~')
Me too! and I remembered that there were 2 that was always doing a live action segment
Remember this and cry with emotion: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RTkuCXRZnyM
he looks scary, esp his eyes *LOL* almost like he's a bit.... lecherous looking?!?! Prefer the more cartoony mario too ^^;
Bit too next-gen ofr my taste. I liked all versions that were in the SNES 'All-Stars' game and of course Galaxy. Sunshine is just plane lame. Hopefully you can smack the Delphinos in the Island stage in the new Brawl game
aaaaaaaah, my eyes!!!! (><.
Danny, Mario Galaxy made me dizzy by just watching
I dont kno what Peach sees in him.
She's only with him for his money. We all know that. :P BTW, I wonder what she'd look like if she got the realistic treatment like Mario?
He saves her and she does not care much otherwise... She's a princess after all. ^^; I still wonder how she landed in the Mushroom Kingdom in the first place... Well, she does not look like one, right?
Princess Peach is a hoe
I'm a big fan of all Mario games :wink: The one on Super Famicon, N64 and Wii were the best
Now I know what, I'll scare the kids for halloween, with ^^
Yeah...a little bit too real. Technology really can go too far sometimes. (>_<)
My favorite Mario game is Super Mario World. It was the first game I've played on the SNES and I spent a lot of time with it. Haven't played Galaxy yet but Mario is starting to annoy me anyway, I don't need a game for every sport with Mario in it...
Reaaly look too real. I don't remember watching any mario series but I do remember playing it in a game boy colour when I was a kid^^
Old-school Mario is awesome, but Super Mario Galaxy was pretty incredible! Super Mario Galaxy was definitely worth playing over and over and over!
Super Mario Bros. 3 and Mario Galaxy are the best "traditional" Mario games out there. But the Paper Mario games, and the Mario Kart series are also excellent. And it's not exactly a Mario game, but Super Smash Bros. Brawl is freekin digital crack. Can't. Stop. Playing.
YIKESSS... O_O although the 3D is Super, the face makes me feel a bit creepy. Super Mario Kart still fun to play with other.
LOL it looks too real xD my fave mario game.. definitely Mario World on the snes. Spent a significant amount of time playing it. ^^ I also love Mario Land 2 on the gameboy. ^^
good thing Nintendo doesn't show all of the details on Mario's face!!
Eep! That's a little too realistic for me. >_< My all time favourite Mario game is still the classic - Super Mario World. <3
