Hayfever in Japan

Hayfever in Japan
Lovely hayfever season is here and me is dying.
I hear yogurt is good at reducing the symptoms of hay fever so have been taking some day n night - the "meg milk" labeled pot you see here.

Is you suffering from hay fever and do you know of anything that can help (apart from gouging my eyes out and slicing off my nose).

Um, I don't have a problem with it but I guess some kind of a medicin would work, or a secret Japanese cure from the edo-era.

But if medicin are making you tired then I guess it's kinda a double edged sword.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hayfever attacks when sakura trees are about to blossom, right?
If so, when I went to japan it was already past that time, as the flowers had already opened.

But anyways, I do have some allergies, and I do have some problems with my nose and eyes... kinda understand the problem.

Nose gets all cramped up, you can't breath very well, and eyes get all irritated and stuff.

Anyways, wish you get well soon Danny... I'm expecting to see some nice cherry blossom pics and a nice hanami post?

Wish I could be there too... I had a great time in a hanami with a bunch of strangers when I went to Japan...

That's why it's so great to have a mother that is a doctor, whenever I get something she can always prescribe something that cures it or makes it alot easier at least. Anyone else would have to go to the hospital and get examined to get a prescription and go to the pharmacy and all, which most people wouldn't even bother with, but she just picks it up after work. ^_^

And regarding hayfever, there are alot of allergic medicine (pills) for it. And nose spray for allergies should help alot too. I don't really have any serious allergies but I can get a little affected by pollen sometimes when it is really bad, but one pill and gone it is.

For allergies and hayfever try a combination of Allegra D and Cleranex. When I was in Japan last year on during this same week I didn't have a problem. Hell I breathed better in Japan then anywhere else I've been... including Austrailia, USA (Minnesota and Arizona) or Canada.

Cleranex is actually for azthma which I don't have but it works really effectively against hay fever type allergies when used in combination with Allegra D.

If you can't get Allegra D you can try Cleratin D.

I was shocked a year ago how many people were wearing masks because of allergies.

Danny, If you can get them there give this a try...you won't regret it.

You know Danny, if you had talked about this some years ago, I would have told you that "I have got this everyday".
It happened to me every morning, just after waking up, I always wondered why.
Since I came here, it only happens when I completely lack sleep... Even if I have a long-lasting, relatively well-entrenched nocturne habits, sneezing in chain (sometimes 7 times in a row!) is a bad memory that is far away now.
Just to say that wondering about the factors, allergenics (dust, dust mites -ewww-) but also humidity or room temperature can play a role in that.
I am not sure if a severe lack of sleep can be responsible as well, though.

In fact my problem is not the number of hours I sleep, but rather that I take power naps during the day and stay almost overnight... I always have been much more of a night person and finding sleep can be a pain sometimes.
Hopefully, my schedule (university classes) is rather light, even if like for those past weeks assignments and exams have been piling up.
I really should try to sleep early again one day. orz

Too bad there aren't many Pharmacists that roam this place. But for what it is worth, I always have used short lived medicine that takes the curb off and I bear the rest it the day. Ever since I left a place that fried chicken I have not had and bad allergic problems. Simple advice ,I drink plenty of warm fluids that keep my head from heading south. Too bad, not much help for me is there not even loratatine can help there.. -phed PE w/o psudephedrine, only four hours long but it work for me for colds, allergies and congestion without any acetaminophen also it it does not put me in a haze. Of course talk to a Doctor if it is really bad. Just my unprofessional experience. I don't want to break any laws.

Hum hay fever comes from allergies which is very difficult to cure. The best way is to avoid pollens and such things but that would mean you would have to live in a bubble.

What I recommend is.... filling yourself up with vitamins and complements for years and years and you'll see loads of differences. I haven't had a fever nor a flu since I started taking vitamin complements since I was 15 (7 years ago).

 Is "Hay fever" 花粉症[Kafunsho] ??
If yes, I can recommend Loratadine (A.K.A. Claritin[クラリチン] in Japan)

Althougn It has mild near no side effect, Anti allergy effect is strong.
As a long time Kafunsho patient, I can really reccomend it. But Claritin is a prescribed medicine in Japan. I wonder if you have a Japanese national medical insurance(国民健康保険)?

P.S.
You're relly Japanese in both body and soul(^^;...

Antihistamines you take one tablet when required is probably the best option. That's what I take since I have hayfever.

Nasal sprays are also quite good but depends if you like using sprays. Some people don't.

Most common antihistamines are...
Zyrtec
Telfast
Claratyne
