While I like my folding bike, I think it could be smaller - a lot smaller like these - which do you prefer? 1. Seen these around but doesn't look too comfortable. Tis compact though.2. The guy says that it sells for 699 - I presume USD?3. Gekko bike for 159 USD - I'll take this one.Post inspired by a link that member DRAGUN sent in of concept folding bikes.
It's missing the door where the hundreds of clowns come out. Looks cute, would go with the silver one for the city. Specialy nice when it doesn't weight much and you use a lot of these stair-bridge-over-the-street things (or under).
i saw a shop here that sells a folding bike that fits into a suitcase...i don't know how to ride a bike though. tried learning but i always fail orz
never learned as well. too darn hard. i guess my balance sucks.
im not alone here then when i say i cannot ride bikes. I will learn tho before i move over there
Wow, learning to ride a bike is such a fundamental step when you are a kid in the US. I have never met someone who doesnt know how to ride a bike before, it just never occured to me (please dont take offense). I guess I take some things for granted.
You should see China.
nice concept folding bikes, never knew bicycles could be so small. bicycle #1 looks pretty weird thought, maybe its the tiny wheels. #3 looks decently priced and comfortable enough. thought if i am going to be mobile, i would go rollerblade.
a friend of mine in singapore really liked his strida http://strida.yeahbike.com/ I think it's really cool too! it's supposedly really light ^^ But more for people who are good at balancing on the bike? ^^;
I guess they would all take some form of balance more than a normal bike. I know a motorcycle can be tricky for people, but that weighs 300-1200lbs.
Any idea on how much weight these can support?
I'll buy one if it could fit in my pocket... Bicycles are fun to ride but I prefer to walk, no need to park it, no hassle!
Of course there is that whole time and distance thing to consider... lol.
Did the Gekko steal its name from Eureka Seven?
I have a Dahon Boardwalk 06 6 speed. But so far my favorite is the Bike Friday Tikit. It's a little pricey iirc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQscBxx7wLE
Sweet! Now all we need is a bike that it built into your pants and all you have to do is squat then a transformers noises randomly happens and your on your way.
Wow, either that or a toilet. You could still squat, noises could happen, and you could be on your way.
Not a fan for folding bikes, still prefer a fixed frame road bike for speed and rigidity.
Same here. Would be nice for the city but since the only thing to see in my city are a$$holes, no thanks.
Um.. literally?
Hell no, I saw that one coming. How should I call those guys otherwise?
same, i much perfer a full size bike, 24 inch rims baby!
lol, bicycle spinners..someone pimp my bike!
Youz been pimped playa! *Sprinkles pimp dust on your bike* Warning: Pimp dust not to be used with any other household cleanders. Pimp Dust is a registered trademark of Krunk incorporated, and not to be used without express permission. Also, Pimp Dust is baby powder, all the better to slap-a-hoe with (Hoe sold separately).
Haven't ride the bicycle for sometime now. When I was over at my friend's house in Japan, he let me rode his bike while we went to shopping and I can feel that I was rusty on riding the bike...
Bike #1 The whels are way to small and slow. Bike #2 Still too small. Bike #3 Tooooo Small .... oh forget portable
Since the school and the shopping centre are just ~10 and ~20 minutes walk respectively from this bloody condo, bike's not really needed.
hmmm... really like the first one. looks compact enough to fit in a schoolbag. Although i think anybody trying to race a turtle would get tired, the wheels are REALLY small -.-
...What the hell?! can any one sit on that ?
autobots, transform and roll out! ('~')
Me? im not a biker because i never try to use that. i used my neiborhood's "Pedicab" and i bumb it to the wall. But that bike is portable to use and carry to the train.
its been only a yr since i last rode a bicycle. by the way that bicycle is too small.i like sports cycle or mountainbike.you can go to good speeds.i used to do easy stunts on bike a bigger bicycle.
How comfortable is your bike, Danny? I'd get a foldable bike, maybe, if I went to Japan. However I want to make sure to get a comfortable one.
... I don't even know how to ride a bike (lol). Roller blades and scooters for me, please.
What is it with you guys from Malaysia not riding bicycles? lol.
LOL. Actually, I'd say I'm a special case. I didn't successfully learn to ride a bike when I was young, and before I knew it, the bikes got spoilt and my mom got rid of them. I'd go on about my life some more, but I'd just be rambling ^^; My brother (and parents, of course) know how to ride a bike though. ^^;
I own a pair of Mobikys. They aren't the smallest or lightest folding bikes around, but they fold extremely quickly and simply, and they can be rolled while in their folded state. You can even fold/unfold them while rolling (pretty fun to demo this to curious passers-by).
It's small, but I like the folding bike you and your wife have Danny. This bike looks uncomfortable to me.
Folding bikes? No thanks, I'll stick to kona bikes ;)
Have you seen those foldable tires prototypes Danny? I think they are a better sollution.. though it seems it's expensive to get them done, and it's not for sale yet. The main problem with foldable bikes is that most of them uses tiny tires... which means you'll have to pedal 4 times or more to get where you want. If I had to deal with one, I'd get the ones with full sized tires... this completely sacrifices portability though. I mean, you can at most fold the bike to the size of one tire. I could use one of those... I'm currently living on a big (though not so big) city with no car. At least the public transportation is nice.. one of the best in Brazil, though that doesn't really say much about it.
#3 Looks good, just because its such a good price I wouldnt care about how long it takes to set up.
#3 the Gekko Folding Bike is my pick, I'm trying to get one myself but the website that carriers them has been sold our for a while, and it seems like they are the only one that carries them. http://ridethisbike.com/2007/03/nice-1-spd-129-folding-bike.html
