Interesting awareness ad. While real guns are not easy to get hold of in Japan, air guns like my Beretta can be purchased easily. Are real guns or air guns easily available in your region? Image via %%http://netamichelin.blog68.fc2.com/blog-entry-2019.html,Neta%.
Lol, here in mexico you can buy anything but you need to know hoew to look for it.
:| actually in Vietnam, I rarely see any guns. If i remember right, I've only seen real gun 2 times in my 21 year life :D
If you want to get any sort of gun here you need to get a license and it's pretty hard to get one, almost impossible.
Same here. In order to acquire and possess a firearm or firearm component, the applicant must have a justifiable purpose for its use. The applicant must also fulfil the application requirements for acquisition permits etc... I would like to get back my late father´s 22 caliber handgun from the local police station and then frame it and put it on the wall. For decorative purpose of course! ;) Oh well, maybe one day i will get it back. :)
Yes, of course there are rules and it is difficult. But if you have shooting as a hobby, or you're a hunter, then you can get a gun. You just need to have, for example, a membership of a shooting club. Last year there was a school shooting here, which was on news around the world. That guy had a license to have a hand gun, although his original main purpose for it had always been to shoot other people. You just need to be able to prove that you need a gun and have a purpose to use it.
citizens in singapore are not allowed to own guns. in fact if you know someone who are in possession of firearms and failed to report it to the police, you are also breaking the law for not reporting it.
Actually we can own guns here. All you have to do is to join the gun club, pay for the gun, and have it locked in the Armory of the club only to be used in the club's range. How nice and convenient...NOT
That's not stopping those who're desperate enough though. Look at that idiot of an NS man a few months ago...
You mean CPL Dave rite? After that incident, it affected the whole SAF and cause the MPs to conduct a major raid across all SAF camps on the island.
wow i love this ad, its a very powerful
In taiwan: Air guns are allowed... but not real one In Malaysia: Air are not allowed without license, Real gun must be licensed for purpose(like work in Jungle) Either way, got both....(Both toy and real)
Here in the good ol' US of A, you can get any gun you want depending on the state restrictions. For example, in California( where i live) and New York, the firearm restrictions are higher. You can't get magazines with more than 10 rounds capacity( you can buy pre-ban 15 round mags though) or a full automatic. There are also some guns which are banned here( California) like the unique Mateba autorevolver. Otherwise, you can get a nice, accurate, proven, and reliable CZ-75, Glock, or Beretta for less than what you'd pay for a top spec PS3. Hell, I could go out right now to a sporting goods shop and buy an 8 round 12 gauge Remington shotgun on sale for $250 since it's considered a sporting good. Ammo's cheap too. 25 shells for $5. It's perfect just in case there's a zombie outbreak.
Here here to the zombie outbreak, you never know when one might happen and a shot gun is your best friend in such a situation.
pff, embedded chainsaw on hand and crowbar are the most effective weapon against zombie, admit it!
No- splintered wood is D:
Forgot to add. Basically Danny, you can get a real Beretta for a lot less than what you paid for your air gun. Odd way these things are priced.
I'm in America, specifically Texas. Our favorite misconception is that guns flow like water and we all ride horses to work. Still its a bit too easy to get your hands on a fire arm around here
Hmm.. not sure how it is here... I think the people here create their own custom guns (I'm not really sure) judging from the crime news I've seen so far.
Here I don't think it extremely hard to get a gun. Unless you're a criminal or something like that, since you need to get it registered. There's a good amount of gun but it mostly for hunting. On the other hand, what gun are legal is restricted to pretty much anything that ain't automatic and I think semi-automatic isn't legel neither. When it come to airsoft, most of the one we have suck, they need to be transparent and can't have legally good model like you have in Japan. Also, the nozzle need to be orange.
Legally it's getting harder... illegaly, it's easy, but recent police actions are making it more hard to get. That's for real guns. Air soft guns were prohibited sometime ago... but it remained legal for sometime, 'till people started using them for armed robberies and kidnappings. Anyways, I like the campaign. I know lots of people will disagree with me, but I still think the best way to deal with weapons is forbidding them for common citizens. And I know people will say stuff like "yeah, go ahead and let only the bad guys have weapons". I still think it's best to forbid weapons for common citizens, period.
Considering we have a gun section in the local paper classifieds yeah it's pretty easy to get guns even if you're not supposed to. With the right paperwork and some waiting you can get dang near anything if you have enough money.
If you could be arrested for simply saying "bomb" to someone and have it overheard by security forces in the airport, you think Singaporeans could own guns?
Air guns could be purchased at a local toy shop but as for real guns, it is not that easy to purchase one. you need some license to carry and own a gun
I've lived there once and saw those shops in the major malls. Not only do you have to get a license but you also have to shell out 2 to 3 times an average person's monthly salary to be able to purchase one.
Gun's aren't too difficult to get in our region. Heck I went with my friend to a local Walmart and bought a rifle. You have to have a license though and be a certain age.
I think I'll be moving over to South Africa real soon. Easy to get (illegal) guns in my hometown (i spent a few of my childhood years up in Mindanao in the Philippines). A few relatives of mine have died at the lethal side of a gun barrel yet I still consider them a necessary evil in our world, I plan to legally own one myself . Remember guns don't kill people, (crazy, desperate people do)
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/23175818#23175818 Turning this into "guns are bad, mmmkay" and "bad guy's fault" convo~
This just confirms it, guns = Bad...
those airsoft guns are bad idea, brandishing a toy gun that looks so realistic is good way to get shot by the police here. people have been shot by police who've 'mistaken' wallets and cellphones for guns.
lol... no comment.
well u won't need a gun, a kitchen knife always work for stabbing, and some bit slashing. remember, melee is stronger than a gun, if u know how to use them and have guts to use them though... hell, use a pen as a weapon, stab it at the neck, slow painful death for sure
chopsticks are my weapon of choice ...need to stop watching jet li movies
Time to introduce South Africa to the Death Note. http://www.dannychoo.com/fauna_detail/eng/856/The+Real+Death+Note/
lol. Well my place don sell air guns anymore but luckily i bought them early. I got 2 mp5 and 2 beretta. XD
NoOb question please: is that picture shopped?
yes obviously. ('~')
After firing real guns I can't go back. It's fan-freakin-tastic. My current favorite handgun is the H&K USP 40 cal. I'm dead on with that thing. Anyone else enjoying shooting?
Yeah I have a saying...Some people take yoga to relax...I shoot guns. I personally own a Glock 17 9mm, Sig Sauer Mosquito 22lr, and a Colt 357 Trooper revolver. I bought the Sig to plink with on the cheap. But I have to say I'm way more accurate with the 357 with 38 special rounds in it.
The closest thing I have met with guns are shooting with air rifle qualitified for Olympic shooting sports, a falling block action rifle, and handling my friend's real but deactivated AKM. Pic of AKM here: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/quentinlau/PB210446.jpg
Air guns shops are common in some areas in Hong Kong such as Mongkok and Wan Chai. Guns are usually displayed behind glass in most shops, but I did enounter one where people can try them on-hand. It was like a very casual black market (lol), as there will be a lot of men crowding in the small shop trying with different guns or complaining how they want them but have no money to buy them. Even I went to try out the bolts of the L96.
Can easily get air gun where i live, at night, in my bed, in my dreams..... Reality can be so cruel sometimes...
I see airsofts at all the one-stop shop store; along with muzzleloader kits that are available to purchase. Plus some air (pellet) guns can fire with just about as much deadly velocity as a 22 Long Rifle (Deadly up to 1/2 mile down-range).
Back home in the US, I used to go into stores where food, guns, and fishing bait were sold in the same place. Students used to carry guns to school and leave them in their vehicles--or might even take them IN school if they were part of a rifle team! Now it's much harder to get a gun, and the areas where one is allowed to have them are much more limited. Did the violence rate go down? No, it went UP. Guns aren't the problem. I can easily improvise a weapon that's just as--or more--dangerous. Heck, I could just reach into my knife drawer for that! In areas where guns are scarce, the violent turn to things like machetes and farm tools. Guns aren't "killing tools" so much as "offensive capability equalizers". There are plenty of peaceful people in South Africa who have defended the lives of their families with guns, and I'm sure they're not so keen on giving them up.
Yeah that's how easy it used to be to get hold of them. But things have changed and you are now limited. Eg. no full- or semi-automatic rifles and no full-automatic pistols. You may not own any military weapons. You are also limited by the number of weapons as well as the amount of ammunition you may own. All of that is of course after you have done a gun proficiency course and the police have come to interview you as well as inspect your safe and premises. A air guns on the other hand, well you are allowed to own up to a 4.5mm (.177) without any sort of legal requirement except for not being allowed to fire it in residential areas. PS. The above only applies if you are a law abiding citizen.
Pennsylvania laws are such that as long as you are in decent standing with them, a three minute verification process is all that is needed. Carry Conceal Weapons permits are also easy to get. Class III restricted items and weapons, not so much...you need a lot of federal paperwork. Military IDs help a lot. While air guns are fun, nothing beats taking your newly purchased Sig P226 Elite to the local range and sighting it over a few hundred rounds. Next on my list of weapons will probably be in attempting to acquire a FN Five-Seven with the class III restricted SS190 Duty Round (military ammunition that flies as fast as an F-15...about 2,350 ft/s or 716 m/s).
