Being in the limelight in Japan is tough - one wrong word and the media will come down on their victim like a ton of bricks. Koda Kumi recently said that the water used to protect the child in the womb in women over 35 goes stale - she said it in a lighthearted way and is currently taking a bashing. These pics are of her apologizing on TV. Image from Itai News. Clip of Kumi apologizing on TV...Koda Kumi music video below.
Oh yeah, I read about this. Its pretty much like the celebrities here in America. They say one wrong thing and the media eats it up. Funny how they don't cover the good things they do. And BTW, if anyone wants a Japanese news site that is in English then go here: http://www.japantoday.com/jp/
Britney is getting abused like 24/7 by the media in America...
ha, yeah she is. I have opinions on that but this isn't the time or place to discuss that. LoL.
Why wouldn't it be the time or place?! As I see it, what goes around comes around, karma's a B*TCH. Maybe the media are overdoing it, but Brit really got herself into that mess like she was diving head-first.
@Gammagreen, her name isnt Karma, its Britney Spears... just helping out there. Lol.
Britney spears has had already too many chances to change and she hasn't so I do not have a sympathy for her what so ever. She knew what she was getting into when she become a pop singer but Kumi made a mistake that is all. She already apologized. People need to get the head out @sses and get on with their lives.
loh britney was just dig her own grave making so many fuss in the media. now everyone is thinking if she is going to kill herself
It's pretty much like that all around the world, isn't it? It's the exact reason why I hate the media so much.
Yep, it seems to be the same in every country.
Who cares? People should get bashed for saying stupid things. How many times has someone said something with a plethora of asshattedness and you want them to be publicly humiliated?
True. But people get bashed sometimes for saying things that normally wouldn't matter at all and that pisses me off. And I don't mean people like Britney, I don't care about celibrities.
I wonder what caused her to say that in the first place though. Duh of course it would make people angry! I'm not saying she deserves the public outcry that she got, just wondering why she thought she should say that. Sometimes it's just smarter to not open your mouth in the first place.
She was talking about herself when asked when shes having a baby. Then the media made it look like she was talking about everybody. Poor girl.
Ohhh, I see what happened. It's pretty much impossible to answer like she wanted to without offending somebody.
You guys recall the Miss Teen US? LOL
Oh yeah, she was a complete mess.
Oh yeah! The semi nude lush right?

"Some people out there in our nation don't have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and uh the Iraq, everywhere like such as and I believe that they should... our education over here in the US should help the US uh, err should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future... for our children." someone make her president
Lol, reminds me of miss Eastgermany... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JKOz4zq2F4 The reporter asks the candidates where East- and Westgermany were. One of them turns the map upside down, another one even thinks that Poland is located in Germany...
Really goes to show all beauty, COMPLETELY clueless a.k.a no brainer....
If I ever become famous, I will be notable for not caring what people think. Though I really can't see me becoming famous.
One's reputation is based on their image. Even though you say this, very few can maintain this attitude once in the spot light.
Some celebrities just live by going for controversy at every occasion. Life is truly sad sometimes.
NEVER ASPECT KODA KUMI APPEAR HERE! I'm a super fan of her~ really sad to see her tears fall... (T____T)
this thing happens everywhere... the media sometimes blow things out of proportion. they will look for a small flaw inside a celebrity and then exaggerates it >.>
This is true. Celebrities really can't let their guard down. No matter how famous, or not, you are. If I were famous, and made a statement, any kind of statement, I'd make it as generic as possible, as to avoid such a problem.
never trust the media for what you see ain't really what it seems. odds:95%=trash,5%=true some facts about media: 1)media is the root cause of mind pollution. 2)the media is always full of propaganda. 3)media tend to distort the truth most of the time. 4)famous people tend to forget that once they become famous, they don't realise that they become leaders in the people eyes whom they look to for inspiration. 5)media distorts the way a person thinks psychologically.
Celebrities also are ranked as deities by a number of people but they remain human... It's when they mess up a bit that they are targeted without any form of mercy. Quite a weird logic if you ask me.
it's the same everywhere i guess. hong kong and taiwan are well-known for their paparazzi. korean media on the other hand are more protective of their celebrities. in singapore, the netizens community is more fierce than the local media. pages of flamings will ensure if any celebrities made an inappropriate comment.
LOL, how right. When the Odex business first started, he media havn't even said anything about it; but the people were all for "Burn Odex" and other stuff like that.
not to mention our local netizens are the first to dig out the photo of ODEX's director and his infamous "double-6-ed" comment on a forum.
And another celebrity excuse vid...I'm kinda getting used to them :/
I hate it how people want to see every little thing a celebrity does...Every moment of their lives is being watched by people who seem to care about them more than themselves...I know in the US people know more about celebrities than each other...pretty sad... and like gordon said, in korea people seem to be nicer towards celebrities....Baek Ji Young had her sex tape released in the internet, yet she's still singing, and even won an award years after the tape
So commenting on the quality of amniotic fluid within a (slightly over middle-aged) pregnant womans uterus gets you a media campfest? I wonder how the Japanese would handle American pop stars and their weird antics.
Didn't know Koda Kumi would bump herself into these kinda of troubles. Celebrity scandals are common. One of the most recent one that rocked Hong Kong would be the current Edison Chen photo scandal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edison_Chen_photo_scandal
Well, again, this dude had it coming. I mean, sure, take a few pictures with a girl you're dating, even intimate ones, but DO NOT keep them in your hard drive, and especially DO NOT show your friends (what kind of guy shows intimate pictures to his friends anyways...)
the pictures were said to be stolen from edison's computer when he sent it for repair. bakka...
Edison Chen is a giant idiot, I'm not one bit sorry for him. What's with celebrities and nude photos? Do they not learn? As for those girls, they need to have a nice shave, because I thought I was looking at some kind of hairy animal.
qingy, too much info in the last sentence of yours. XD
TO the media, statements and stuff like that are potential ways to increase viewer ratings, so they make a mountain out of a molehill. It's all for the sake of their job.
Singapore's media aren't at all comparable when it comes to celebrity bashing... lol
Glad I don't really like any 3D idols - don't have to bother myself with rumours and all.
Heh, I wonder what came over her to say something like that though. Now she gonna take some damage with new album promotion and many of her commercials getting halted. She might disappear for a year perhaps...
I'm a big Kuda Kumi fan, I think they should just give her a break already, they even made her cry >:(
This pretty happens to all the stars over the world. The media are assholes really.=/
Such an odd comment (and subject matter) to get in trouble for. I can only wonder in what context such a conversation was struck in.
I'm not a fan of her music but still it seems as though she is getting a very harsh punishment.
