Oh and to answer Danny's question - no I don't >_< The reason: although I'm Chinese, my grandfather who came from China had no such tradition back home since my great grandfather's family was so poor (same reason why they migrated).. . Oh and I mentioned Soeharto's ban on Chinese culture before, I'd like to correct that here, sorry for the mistake ^^

Huhu, in Malaysia, ang pao can be received twice a year. One during Chinese New Year, one during Eid Mubarak (Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Malay language). For Chinese, if they go to Muslim house during Eid Mubarak, there are high chance that they will received ang pao (but for Eid Mubarak, its "duit raya" in Malay language), and for Muslims. if they go to Chinese house during Chinese New Year, they also can received ang pao

There was a Chinese New Year event here in Helsinki with fireworks, etc., but couldn't go there because I was working. Maybe there would have been some tasty Chinese food. Looked fun when I saw it on tv.
