...

Well, at 3,990 yen, perhaps they sacrificed quality and chose to target those with lower budgets?

Well, I just looked at the figures in their official site and besides the Rozen Maiden ones, certain Capcom-related figures and a aloha-swimsuit blonde girl, there was not much to see about.
(Not to say most of their figures are relatively *mumble* not good at all *mumble*).
Just see for yourselves. The truth is in the eyes of the beholder. ^^;

The "EYES of the beholder"? Lol, I know I look for truth there. Lol. Ahhhh... its "truth is in the eye of the beholder", just so you know.
I agree though, usually a company that has bad figures isnt going to put out a fantastic one all of a sudden. Im sure it happens, but its rare.

If someone told me to choose between eating 50 cup noodles and buying that figure, I'd sooner give you three the noodles and eat 50 plastic cups. Because even if I can't afford ne with a higher cost and quality buying this is like demeaning Shana. *continues tirade*

Well, she seems angry for a good reason...

1)Failed fanservice
2)Seemingly dislocated body parts... Wait, she is supposed to be a dynamic figure?!
3)What is with that support?!
4)Complete lack of detail (hair mostly) and dull Nietono no Shana.
5)Completely pissed-off face (You could almost read "Urusai, urusai, urusai!!" on her lips. Sad, because even a melon pan wouldn't give her smile back.
Seriously, they should have let her have a smile or at least a neutral expression on her face.

I'd go like that for a little while more but I'll stop there.
What I like in this figure? The melon pan. XD

Meimi132, wouldn't they feel discouraged by harsh group criticism? (Can I say "bashing" here?)
But if it can help them get feedback for better figures in the future...
(However, they should go for pre-versions and surveys before releasing anything, to minimize risks)

I'm no great shakes at judging figures, but this is ridiculous. In the figure-making world there shouldn't be such a policy as cutting costs to target lower budgets (if that's what they're doing). The reason figures sell is because people love seeing their fav. anime characters rendered in 3D...

An she looks like she just got all her joints dislocated. That would explain the angry look... She'd do a Chucky on the company employees?

Yujin has been around a very long time.

Since the days of anime figures only being available interationally from Japan was by those companies such as Epoch and Yujin.

In my opinion, Yujin's figures has been the standard and might have been "revolutionary" about 5-8+ years ago. All we saw then were gasaphons, action figures, cold cast resins, garage kits, etc.

Yujin actually made plastic/pvc orientated figures for the market since then. It is almost ahead of it time, if you look at the current market which is flooded beyond repair with the "PVC figure".

I do however, see that thier figures has not really improved since then. With the introduction of figure manufacturers such as Good Smile Company, Alter, Max Factory, and more, they set the new standard and always setting newer and better quality figures setting the bar that much higher.

If you really think about it, this Shana figure, 5-8 years would have been a fantastic buy.

However, in 2008, this is not that great compared to the likes of Max Factory's Flame Haze Shana PVC Figure.

Just my 2 cents.

Totally agree with Kid Nemo's POV. For now, Yujin's decent product is their gashapon line ups. Id say theyre on par with Bandai.
But figure, although theyre bad, you aint see nothing yet. Go look for Sugar Mind and Wafudoh. Now those are on same par as Taki, if not worse =__="

Don't think it's THAT bad. I mean, at least they got her face kinda right...
It is an action figure though, isn't it? Action figures (Revoltech) are always kinda hard to get right.

Anyways, I saw some pretty awful figures last weekend.

Like one Bokusatsu Tenshi figure... they not only got the face completely wrong, it also looked huge, flat and deformed (even though it was on a "sexy pose" kinda figure).
