Just re-launched a feature called "Articles being read right now." Articles being read by thousands of users across the site are polled and fed to the widget that you now see at the top of the middle column on the top page. In the future it will refresh every X seconds but for now if you want to see more then click "refresh." Tested in IE6/7/FF on windows and FF/Safari on Mac. The behavior on Safari mac is a bit iffy but a non show stopper - scroll up n down to fix it for now ^^; If you are using IE, you may want to consider using FF to see how fast the site loads - a few times faster than IE and saves you from tearing your hair out waiting for the page to load. Well tearing your hair out is OK just as long as its not pubic hair.
Forgot to mention that if you use the ajax tabs and switch back to the main tab - the currently read posts disappear - click refresh to get more articles. Tis a bug...
i like the option, greay way to discover some articles. and yes, this site works a thousand times better on FF then IE7
who still uses IE (*_*);
laughingman, one did admit it very recently. Right, DRAGUN? *Dark grin*
i am using lolifox xD
D blade, LOL ^_^ Bakaboi, Lolifox? Is it a skin for Firefox?
no one uses ecchifox? no one? great way to relieve past times for the (quote Stormwatch) old geezers like me... ok maybe not that old; or allow new members to uncover more of the stuff than makes this site. coolio.
Lolifox is indeed and addon to firefox
My firewall is actin up after this feature was added. i.e. it is blocking dannychoo.com, what should i do?
Awesome feature! IE seems to always screw up ^^; Tried changing something in my login page for my blog. Looks and works fine in FF but looks like a piece of smelly old crap in IE.
stick with the fox, or at least go opera ;). Never open IE, it is a steaming pile of bantha fodder
IE is made of Microsoft and pure lose. nuff said. love the comeback of the feature by the way.
Danny your website is going to be a Shrine for us...
Going to be? I thought it is and already was ever since long long ago =D
ya i worship it everyday. ('~')
offerings? like what kind, the usual Singaporean chicken and roasted duck or the sacrifice of an anime hater? i, personally use the latter *evil laffs*
anime hater? hmm... kinda reminds me of ODEX. BURN THEM!
I guess clicking on the ads would be something good. ^^
Clicking ads i guess works, but where is the donate button? I usually throw in a buck or two to websites i really like.
Should there be a donate button, so that danny could buy more figures? Hehe...
nice update
Nice... every now and then I find some random articles with great content here. As for browsers... I use Firefox mainly and sometimes Opera. I'd completely uninstall IE if this didn't completely screwed up Windows...
woohooo! it's back, thx for bringing back this wonderful option danny!
Wow Danny, your new feature releases never fail to amaze me. Keep up the great site development ^^
So a article being read right now could include Articles being read right now?
I was reading this and was thinking who actually uses IE lol?! But I guess there are the few out there who might have to share a computer or use a public one.. As far as I see it, thats the only excuse for using buggy, crashing IE lol! Liking the new widget! I would consider something similar for my site.. Maybe when I can actually get thousands of readers though :-p
I use only IE7. I don't have any other browsers. Okay, maybe I might be interested to test Opera, but surely won't use Firefox. I don't personally have anything against FF, but just don't like it. And I don't like FF-fanboys' rude attitude towards people using IE. I think I'm almost the only person in my school still using IE, lol. And when we encounter some website, which doesn't work with FF, I'm the only winner.
I like this feature...but where'd the this day last year post go? Did you take it out? Btw guys, I use IE7. XD Never been too fond of firefox myself. It's a personal preference. ^^
Removed temporarily - figuring out the best place to put it.
Yo Danny, how bout just above or perhaps below Puchi Blurbs comment bar? Personally that's where I look after reading the news and article sections, so still highly visible for your readers. Dunno if you need to resize 'last year' for it, but that should be simple enough.
I have been thinking on this too... Since the puchi blurbs section is only present at the main page, why not put the "Last year post" at the same location in every post?
FatB and D Blade, Thanks for the suggestions - will consider those spots.
I've used Firefox for years. IE is dead to me. When it starts to actually resemble a web standards compliant browser, maybe I'll give it another try...but I doubt it. >.>
good feature Danny! i'm reading stuff that i didn't know u had
