Eternal Snow shows us his loot from his recent Japan trip. Wonder if he left all his clothes in Japan to get all this back to where he lives ^^; Have you left anything in Japan to fit loot in your suitcase?
That's quite a stash... I wonder how much he spent...
I see so many of my favorite artists...*sobs*
i disposed of all my underwear and socks to get the stuff to fit.
I envy him....
That's why you take an extra suitcase with you. Or just buy an extra one in Japan.
i'll sell my clothes to buy those first....iguess...
Wow, all that paper... ...I wouldn't be so much concerned about space as going over the baggage weight limit. And to answer the question: no, I've never left anything behind, though I have flown for 9 hours with a Gundam on my lap (Cattle class, Singapore Airways. Got some very strange looks).
Holy Batman! That's A LOT OF STUFF?!? The question isn't how he brought it back but wtf, he spent all that money? IN ONE GO? O________O SHINJIRARENAI!!!!!!
that's actually not too much.. only a couple of books, and some figures.. No problem stuff them into a suitcase, but I wonder how much all of that weight
Wowww that's nice. Though if I went to Japan I would come back with something else, ones not easy to find here. My loot will consist of a crapload of Touhou stuff.
haha awesome. When i was in Japan, i went there with two suitcases, both half full with clothes knowing i would buy a lot. So when i went home i stuffed my dirty clothes in one case and the highly valued anime stuffs into the other. ^o^ I was only afraid of those weird customs... but when we did land in germany there was not a SINGLE person to check the suitcases lol... could just walk truh the counter. :) Lucky me.
omg, what a spender
wow, thats some serious booty, but totally worth the trouble at the airport XD
holy crap. now this is waht i call a big ass haul! man, i'm so jealous, lol. enjoy your loot Eternal Snow ^^
hmm.... i wonder if a candy girl is able to fit into my suitcase? or must i disassemble her first? ('~')
airport customs/cops will stop you thinking that you either: i) kidnapped someone ii) trying to sneek an alien iii) have a suicide bomber in your bag iv) you are a slave labourer v) customs to confiscate your candy girl for themselves...muakakakakakakak
I think most of the airport customs/cops will go for option 5... Anyone else agree?
Aye fellow! Seriously, if i ever went to Japan i'd need 3 suitcases; one for my clothes and stuff, one for my models and one for micellenous anime things.
...wow, to whom did he sell his blood/organs/soul to pay for all that? Wish I could spend that much.
This image reminds me the reason why i can't go to Japan... yet. i'll just splurge my cash on anything i see (especially figures), and end up without space in my suitcase for anything else. Oh wait, i could just wear a jacket without anything underneath... kinda like those flashers. Then i wouldn't need any space for clothing. Smart! *What a terrible thought*
@Eternal Snow LOL! How could I not have read your blog... Interesting read BTW... but the main question is, Where do you get teh moneys?!
@Hirito* Oops..
Wow never knew that the pic of my loots would make it here! I actually brought a expandable bag to keep most of the doujins, but hand-carried the Comiket bags and figures onto the aircraft. There's also a dakimakura but didn't make it into that photo at that moment (no space left on bed?) Left Singapore with 2 bags, came back with 7, and if without my cousin's and friend's extra luggage weight I would have surely gone over (bags that checked in weighted around 15-18kg each, and they both didn't have wheels, hand-carried 5 lighter ones) And the amount I spent?? 188,187 Yen? or something close to that amount. My bank is feeling very empty now... Need to start saving up again for another trip!! Or at least find a part time job once I start Uni >< Thanks for the post up danny ^^. And nope I didn't leave anything behind, besides losing a watch.
It must have been difficult to save up that much money, good work! ^_^ Now, enjoy your loots, you've earned it.
I bet you queued like us when we were there, I noticed some bags. ^^ My total damage was around 140k Yen.
okay.... 200.000 yen= 200.000 * 100 = 20.000.000 20.000.000 : 10.000= U$2000 is that all really U$2000? or + going there(travel) woa, u got a load of cash, i just have like U$300 in my own indonesian account NEED TO GET A JOB >_
I take worn out or old items of clothing and throw them away (in plastic bags...) rather than lug dirty laundry back home. I also take an empty holdall out in the suitcase, big enough to take my bag and any extra items, but small enough to count as hand luggage. However I would rather buy a "Yupaku" (posting box) from a main post office and post any excess loot back to myself - certainly useful for those small figures in their big boxes!
When I went to Japan I didn't carry much stuff back on my bags. That's probably because I shipped by mail 4 boxes filled with stuff... :P Lucky me, I was not really into figures yet. The 4 boxes were from Artbooks only. If I went to Japan today, I'd probably ship 4 extra boxes filles with figures only. And then I would stay in Japan... trying to get some work to buy my ticket back. :P Or waiting to be deported or something...
when I came back from japan last year when I went on my own for doll related stuff, the hubby told me to spread the loot on our bed o_o boy it was embarrassing LOL!!! thankfully I did not have to leave anything behind, but I did pack dirty clothes into a soft bag which we brought inside the hard suitcase ^O^!
When I go, everything is going back by freight or in checked bags. I won't buy the "naughty" stuff, but I'd rather not be outed as a fan.
That's a very nice loot ;p The paper work is doable, but those figures... I would NEVER put some figures in my suitcase and have it *thrown* into the back of the plane. Maybe one (if it's no too big), with a lot of clothes around it. I'd try to put it in my carry-on luggage ;p. Whenever I go to Japan, they ask to open it, but when I return to my home country, they never do. There's hardly anyone there usually, and if you walk very easy and unsuspicious, they don't even look ^^;
P.S.: WANTS that Puhi plushie ;D
might need to change my summer holiday traveling plans if it only takes 2000 USD to go to japan. or is that not with the airplane ticket/hotels/living fees included. anyway, awesome haul, hope you didn't get any back pains from carrying all that stuff.
Damn, thats a load of money well spent. I hope i have enough when i go to japan later this year. Im not much of spender myself, in fact, i try to save my money. But when it comes to anime, I can't resist spending more than i can afford.
@qingy, or is it gingy? You're gonna need alot more than 2G to REALLY have a good time in Japan. I went thru that in 2 days. Trust.
its qingy. the underline makes my name look confusing. anyway, my budget for my trip right now is roughly 5k not including the airplane ticket. this is a little less than what my budget was for my trip to Europe 2 years ago, but then again, that was only for a week or so.
How long did he stay in Japan? Not really a shocker since I'd have done the same. hahah. I'm just amazed he found so many good stuff. XD Congrats on the loot there. ^^
that's a lot of otaku loot he got there ^__^ if you are in japan, take the advantage as much as you can to grab some otaku loot 'coz you will never know when you will get back again =3
i envy u!!
The question is... Where does he go to sleep? The bed's full :D
heck.. i want all of em T_T that only cost around 200.000Y eh? quite cheap.. but plane cost is killing me for sure =_=
Screw that..i would just buy a house there XP
Wow. Impressive, to say the least.
