When I took these pictures of Ai-chan she was 14. What is the age limit in your books (for girls or boys). Thanks to Kintaro for sending this in.
I have a few photobooks of various idols on my shelf, the youngest I think would be Kusumi koharu (12), Yet I dont really buy gravure books of girls, if I did I would probably go no lower than 16, and this has nothing to do with morals, just taste.

In that photoshoot Ai-chan was 14??? With a chest THAT size? o_o Personally, I prefer a smaller bust, so this was a bit over the top for my taste, but she's got a very cute face. Reminds me somewhat of Konno Asami (Mo-Musu)... I once attended an Oomori Reiko photobook handshake session in Ginza. Needless to say, I was the only gaijin there (and nearly 2m tall) so I nearly scared the life out of her... (^_^;
Shes adorable, and I see no problem at all, if you got her to get down on all fours and play a flute then issues could arise (ha) But I'm fairly liberal on such subjects. But people need to understand idol culture before they start lynching people.
It was kinda disturbing when I walked into a "pink" store which was selling Junior idol stuff. They even had a photo shoot going on with the otakus behind a "class room" backdrop. But admitedly the way the magazines/dvds portray the junior idols sometimes really makes it hard to tell how old they are. Your ai-chan pics....I thought she was 18+!

hmmm, yeah, it's hard to tell some idols' ages. I've bothered my friends about them being lolicons but they are mainly about 2D. Me, I don't really mind junior idol as long as they are kept tasteful, the girls are very cute but when they start getting a little too sexual it makes me feel uneasy ^^;;;;
lol, of course they have to show Saaya Irie as a prime example of loli gravure. This stuff makes everyone nervous. I Don't own any gravure books to make a valid opinion on this matter, and if I did I'd hear the FBI party van pulling up later.
I've to second with WoLF-[x] with regards to Ai-chan's age ^^; But photobooks with pre-teen junior in sexually suggestive poses are a no-no for me. I saw a photoshoot with young girls going on at Yoyogi park during my Japan trip but it was probably for a J-drama. I would accept lolitas as cute and cuddly like I can hug them and stuff but to sexually interact and stuff like that is just wrong.
the limit is 16 while im under 20 then it gets bumped up to 18 when i turn 20.
In a couple of years, the age of Ai-chan will not be an issue anymore. Gotta be patient... lol!

Although a few of my friends are lolicons, this concept all together is still very disturbing to me. Perhaps it's just the way they're wired, like homosexuality. Sure, anime lolis are... okay, I guess since they aren't real people, but this junior idol stuff is just wrong IMO.
i'm a lolicon and proud of it but i'm lolicon for 2D lolis only but there are some exceptional 3D lolis who are cute and are fine too but there are only a handful of them ^^;;;
I myself do not find an attraction to lolis, but a question of innocence and what not comes into play. I don't know, when I think of young girls being put into a position that is used to possibly (and I say possibly, because I guess there are those who are exceptions to this) arouse other men. The problem is that I don't find this to be right under my standards, and feel that at the most, a girl should fall under the age that is legal for those sorts of purposes. However, that's not to say a girl can be called cute; I mean, what's wrong in saying "Oh that's a cute child you have there", but I don't feel a sexual attraction to them. But like I said, others may fall in the same position, while others may not. I'm not going to go blast at other people, I just don't see from their perspective, nor do I intend to :p

Lolicon is nice as long is in manga. As for real lolita, it's nice to see them in photobooks just posing doing normal things like having a walk, in uniforms, etc... As long it's cute and there's nothing sexual, it's cute.
Ok, first of all, I totally get that some of you guys are into all this little girl stuff. As I mentioned waaay back on a post, my English boyfriend left me for a Japanese girl, one who looks no older than 14 (she's 19, he 22). I, in comparison, probably look beyond my years and certainly don't have a child's body ;-p But I get that it's 'shoganai' and men dig the whole little girl thing. I, personally think that it's all a bit sick and I'm scared for when my little sisters (10 and 13) come to Japan- how will people treat them? However, I guess it's in human nature- look back in history when it was ok for 40 year old men to marry 13 year old girls (Henry 8th 5th wife, Katherine, was 14 when he was 40 something).

i think i'm actually turning into a lolicon. but then again i am not that far from the ages of these girls so i still have time to decide. as far as i see it although i hate to admit it. this is just tempting the pedophiles out there. but even if there weren't any junior idols out there it won't stop the pedophiles from trying to do what they love to do. i say as long as the "idol" chooses to do it let her be. as long as its her decision.
