Snake and Liquid seems to die at the end of the game, pure speculation.
Better for Snake to die than going Steven Seagal. You wouldn't want to imagine Solid Snake saving the world with unimaginative punches and kicks while having his fat bulging out in later sequels, would you?
There will be prequels to continue the franchise.
