Embarrassing Moments

Raz posts a photo of what I see every day here on the trains.
As for my most embarrassing moment - 2 of them.

1. Walked into a lamp post.
2. Crotch strap from armor came off and was dangling in the wind - had to run into a pachinko place to fix it.

I'm sure there have been other moments but nothing that I recall now.

Original text from Raz below.
Have you ever found yourself caught in an embarrassing moment that involved getting caught or hooked onto something without even knowing it...such as the one this cute young girl is finding herself in? How about running into/through something like a door, a screen fence, or a very clean pane glass window? Ever in public? How do you play it off? High-Resolution: Artwork by Tasuku Iizuki I myself tend to get my key chain hooked onto things such as doorknobs or the curl at the end of a railing. To date I've destroyed three screen doors - the ones typically used for the backyard door, and ran into two pane glass windows...both in public. I played it off by rubbing my forehead and wincing in pain while walking away instead of sporting the embarrassing look. Strangely enough it's a good ice breaker.

I was running down the hall once in high school and the doors open towards the hallway. I wasn't paying attention and a door opened up and I ran right into it. There were alot of people who laughed, but I brushed it off and kept running (I forgot where I was going). My glasses got bent though XD

Reminds me of how my bf's mother put her keys into a car just like hers...and it opened the door. They even let her start the car. When she started to drive away, the owner started waving his arms in front of the car.

It's kind of like the story of people living in a subdivision and the guy gets drunk and forgets which house he lives in...he then uses his key, which opens his neighbor's house. After getting into his neighbor's house, he climbs into the bed in the master bedroom...and the woman in bed he thought was his wife was actually his neighbor's.

Love the pic! ^_^

As for most embarassing moment, I'd have to go with running into a wall while climbing the stairs.  I was in college, climbing the stairs to class when I suddenly lost control of my motor skills.  I watched myself continue climbing while veering to the right.  After seven more steps, I crashed into the wall.  ^^;

At least I didn't veer to the left, though. I would've gone over the railing, then.

i got a class meeting that going to end at 2 PM, or so school scheduled
but they shorten it to 1 PM, since the teachers thinks there nothing to do anymore
the clock was at 12 afternoon & everybody seem to be bored, and pleading to go home

i do the honor by pressing the horn button at teacher's office^^
by 12:10 that day, every 1 in the school already getting out from school^^

i didn't press & run the button out of my teaches offices, i press and walk gallantly out from the office to the school gate LOL^^

ended up i get threatened that they will revoke my test permit if i did that again, the day after tomorrow ^^

I had an accidental touch in school too. Around age 14 or so. The whole class was waiting for something outside (can't remember why) and a few kids started playing tag. I didn't so I was just standing still. All of a sudden a girl ran into me. I could see it happening but it was too late to avoid it, so I took up my arms to protect myself. They turned out to touch here "eyes" for a short moment, then I nearly fell backwards so I took out my arms to regain stability. She was like "sorry. Are you ok?" and nobody else really noticed anything. I was ok and though "with a bit of luck, this might happen again". It didn't.

Don't reply like that. Now you made it look like I'm some sort of pervert who made the accident happen.

It was an accident that lasted for max a single second. I would never do it on purpose (or at least I have to know that they wouldn't mind, meaning I should know them a whole lot better, and not in public)

I was at a wedding and needed to use the rest room which was on the opposite side of the common wall with the chapel. The toilet was one of those commercial jobs with the industrial flush and sound. After completing my business i flushed,(and washed) and headed back to my seat. The flush never stopped and the sound in the chapel was almost deafening. Everyone was looking in my direction and even the priest had stopped talking to the Bride and Groom! I had to return to the the rest room and wrestle with the handle to stop the flushing so the wedding could continue. The walk back to my seat was a long one.

Are you sure you weren't in the mens or universal dressing room?

And why would you be stark when dressing? Unless they wanted a full clothing makeover...or was going to walk out and pull a Winona Rider.

A girl walked in on me when I was in a bathroom (it was unisex and one of those personal one seater ones). However I had only darted inside to grab some toilet paper for use as tissues so I wasn't using the bathroom hence why I didn't lock the door.

She was very flustered when I had walked out and kept apologizing despite me telling her it was alright since I was only grabbing some tissues. If I was using then that would be different.

Okay here goes, this is a big one...*takes a deep breath*

In high school, i was part of my school's marching band. During my senior year, while we were performing our half-time performance during a football game, the belt on my uniform snapped, causing my pants to fall down, and causing me to trip, and perform a faceplant. And this was caught in glorious video as we watched the performance playback after the game.

oh man that is a bad one lol

i have a marching band mishap too but not nearly as embarassing lol. At the end of the first act of a competition performance, I ended up being the only person in the wrong position in the very front row in front of the audience, and even started late for the second act to boot. It was raining hard and I couldn't hear a whole lot through the pelting on the uniform -_-. Oh well at least nobody knew who I was lol. And hey we still won sweepstakes in the end so all was well haha

During my old Highschool years I was involved in a fight, and after kicking the guys ass (like seriously ><) for some reason I burst in to tears. In front of a cheering crowd.

I think I was like 14 at the time.

One time in elementary school I was at a science camp with my class and other schools. One night there was this jeopardy type game where people would go up and raise these cards with their cabin name if they knew the answer to the question which was based off of the things we learned earlier that day. I was a dreadfully shy person (well...and still am lol), and I had a turn up in front of the entire camp audience. I was so damn nervous that I was just rocking back and forth and not thinking of anything. When the guy asked the question over the speaker system, all I heard was... "booowoaroobowobwoowora" and I saw the people all around me raise their cards up and I was just standing there rocking back and forth.

when I got back to my group in the audience, everybody was like "wth man!!" and I was just like lalala...then I started gettin upset from all the questions and started sniffling in front of everybody, and the cabin leader took me away and we had a little talk while cryin a bit. When I got back everybody was like don't worry it's ok man...

felt like a fool -_-

It's hard to pick one story but I guess this one will do. I was walking down the hallway at school and 3 big guys came and picked me up and threw me into the girl's toilets and ran off. Luckily nobody was in there at the time. I just stood there and was like "wtf just happened?". I decided I should get back to class and when I walked out a few guys from my class walked by and they were like "what was you doing in there?"

I was going to my first class, I was gonna be late if I don't hurry. The classroom was located at the heart of the campus so no matter what route I take its gonna take almost the same time going there.

When I got there I looked inside and I saw my professor and saw the writings on the board that is for the class I'm taking. So I went inside took my seat on the back. What's strange is almost everybody is looking at me, when I looked at the professor she mouthed that I'm in the wrong class.

Turns out that I went to the earlier class with same subject and professor, It's only the second meeting of the semester so I didn't really know who are in my class. It was embarrassing at first but I didn't really care afterward (the subject's for first years and I'm already a fourth year).

I think I already told you guys in a similar article somewhere what happened to me some years ago in highschool, but I guess I'll tell it again! XD

It was during highschool in my last year. Me and my friend were CAT (Citizens Army Training) officers and we were assigned to check every class room during recess, lunch and dismissal for students. Students are not allowed to stay in classrooms during these times unless they need to change to their gym uniforms for PE (Physical Education) class or, in the case of dismissal, the room is being used for club meetings. Anyway, it was lunch time and we were checking the 3 floors of the highschool building for any students.

We started from the top floor and work are way down, that way there wouldn't be any students who try to sneak pass us. The third floor was clear so we moved to the second floor. He was checking one side of the hallway and I was checking the other. I checked every classroom on my side until I reached the last classroom at the end of the hallway. Expecting that there wouldn't be any students inside like the other classrooms we checked and since the lights were off in the room, I just mindlessly opened the door and stepped right in.

There I was met with the scene of 20 or so 2nd year girls changing for their PE class after lunch. A few were already dressed while most were not. Then I found me and the group of girls staring at each other. It was for only a few seconds but it felt like it was longer than that. That was when I realized that I should just back up and close the door before anything bad happens to me. My friend saw me close the door in a very suspicious way and asked me what I saw. I told him what I saw of course XD

Most recently...I was going to my first English class of the day, and went into the wrong classroom! It was the second day of class, and I thought I was supposed to go to "368" instead of "268." It was so embarrassing...

The other "biggest" one was I was at the grand re-opening of a shopping mall near my parent's home. I went into a recently renovated store...and walked -right- into a huge glass wall. I completely missed the door. Then I realized that I walked where the door used to be. Hahaha. There was a DJ and everything in this store...so many people saw it...^^;

Well, my most embarrassing moment was in high school, in my class there was a Buddhist nun. She was chasing another of my classmates. Well to block her way, somehow I accidentally held her. Wonder what went through my head then, but as we were playing around, I just played fool and acted like nothing had happened afterward.

Another are moments when I forgot ppl's names, I have really bad memory for names.

In grade 5 swimming for school I was walking and talking to some girls I unknowingly wandered into the female changeroom with them. I didn't go far enough in to get into any trouble but it was still embarrassing.

Most recent public humiliation was when I was dancing at last year's halloween party in my Urahara (Bleach) costume...wearing Geta...and I tripped. C'est trés embarrassment.

mmmm, ya'll be havin som bad mis-haps.

But Ive got one.
So freshman year in high school, and Im going to my very first party, right?
D.J., free food and everything. So, I happened to be the only
"black" person at the party,
when this song "pop, lock and drop it'
comes on, everyone expects me to do the
dance that comes with it (wich includes a series of bending
ones knees in a sitting on the nippon toilet
position, and slowly bringing yourself up with a
swerve an a shake of the rear.).

so, in mid 'dropping' with everyone watching,
my brand new jeans (that were a size too big)
give out and rip split in half down to my knees.
did I mention everyone was watching?

So how do I leave the stage?
give everyone a smile and say
'Well Dayuuuuuuumm.'
then I proceed to leave with confidence,
because that day,
I was wearing cute pantsu.

Oh god, there are too many things to count...

One of the good ones was when I drove a go-kart for the first time ever. I believe I was in like 5th grade or something. But on the very first lap, I drove the kart right into the wall on the last turn. The kart actually drove up the wall and got stuck on top of it. They had to wave the red flag to stop everyone on the entire track while they helped me off the kart and cleared the "wreckage".

My brother and sister were also racing at the same time, and when they made everyone stop, they looked around to see what the problem was, only to see me see sitting in my go-kart hung up on the wall of the track... I didn't hear the end of it for the rest of the entire vacation, and they still bring it up to this day and laugh at me about it... It was the first, and last time, I ever drove a go-kart... ;_;

Speaking of trains...

It was raining a lot when I was in Osaka this summer. One day when my wife and I where rushing to catch the train I slipped just as we reached the train. As you can imagine I went diving into the train. I grabbed the pole near the door and landed on my arss. Amazingly I didn't hit anyone on the train. Chances are the salarymen seen me coming and all stepped to one side as I entered. ^o^

My wife was so nervous that she started laughing at me... T_T It was kind of funny... Would have made a great scene in an anime...

Not as bad as most of the people here, but since we were asked about running into glass windows...Twice. Once just a week ago on campus, but there was no one around so it was just my pride that was wounded.

The other - we were filming at a sporting goods store. Since it was a high school student film and we only needed one shot, we didn't ask for permission. The shot was of me running out of the store. The doors were automatic, sliding glass ones and I misjudged their speed - ran full speed at them and couldn't stopped in time. Knocked BOTH of them off their hinges. The cashier came out and we ran like hell. ><

Of course, the entire moment was caught on video. We showed it to the entire school at the end of the film as a blooper.

Well, one embarrassing moment I remember is that I cried in front of the class right after a biology test(as in just after giving the paper back) back in my high school because I barely answered the questions(that time I'm not used in having test failures -__-). I was at this amusement centre at Surfer's Paradise, Australia. Think it's called infinity. There were maze-like rooms inside and there was one where it was full of mirrors. I camped at the door waiting to scare my friend. I did that properly but when I turned to run away, I ran straight into a mirror. I swore it looked like a straight route ahead! It was damn painful and I wonder whether the people manning the security cameras saw anything!

Even if they saw it on the security camera, I think they ignored it since you got out of the maze on your own and didn't complain about injuries.

HAHAHA you guys have some funny stories!!! The three most embarrassing that I have (the ones that are similar to these) are all the result of my staring at a gorgeous girl.
[1] Walked right into a parking meter. A bunch of people laughed and said, "I saw that!" "What were YOU looking at!?"
[2] Had to slam on the brakes in my and screech to halt to avoid slamming into the car ahead of me at a stoplight. The girls I was looking at saw what happened and laughed at me; some other people walking nearby laughed too.
[3] I walked into a huge pane of glass (the door was also all-glass, but was 1.5 meters to my right).
haha! ^^

???Confused???
I have had many embarrassing moments, but a few stick out like a sore thumb...

1) Middle school: I was chosen out of the audience with a few others for a fund raising event and we had to listen to some music and name it...and I ended up naming the "Barney" song (for those who don't know, Barney is a purple dinosaur from a children education show) after that the whole auditorium roared in laughter...

2)While visiting a friends home that was still under construction: Me and my friend were trading pokemon on our gameboys (ah the good old days)...there was a sign board that we were walking towards and I didn't notice and my friend was short so he waked through, but I walked right into it...Our parents tried to warn me, but it was too late and all I heard was *BAM*...

3)Ran into a brick wall during a basket ball game because of chasing a ball going out of bounds and they had to make the side lines less than two feet from the wall, couldn't stop and was flat on the wall with a loud thud....I fell backwards like a cartoon character... I could hear the audience going "Ooooh"...now I know what Calamity Coyote in that Loony Toons cartoon feels like...

I have another one (though it wasn't myself this time)
We were like 100-150 school children waiting for the school busses to pick us up after school and a car decided to turn around on the road right in front of us. He should have turned 180 degrees but for some reason he turned like 230 degrees and had a frontal collision with a tree. Everybody started clapping and shouting stuff like "way to go" and "where did you win your driver's license". The tree never fully recovered through.

A Caucasian male walked by my friends and I on the streets and dropped a 2$ coin and continued on walking without knowing.

my friend told him that he dropped his coin, in english, while at the same time i yelled out in chinese "Why did you tell him, i wanted to pick up the coin!"

the man then replied to my friend back in Chinese, "Xie Xie" (thank you).

i ran away instantly, because i felt so bad OTL

Hahaha. I was walking around at an ocean-side park with my friends in Taipei-- the only group of American white guys walking around lots and lots of Taiwanese families. There was a man standing with his young son and when the boy saw us, he pointed at us and started shouting to his father-- "Da Bitzu! Da Bitzu!" (sorry-- I don't know if I spelled this correctly), which means "Big Nose"-- it's kind-of negative way to describe foreigners. My friends and I all knew what it meant and we started laughing. The Man was sooooo embarrassed! He covered his son's mouth and started waving to us in apology.

I was in Italy this week and I went into a post office to get a stamp and I couldn't get out of the office :) It took me about 5 minutes to figure out that I needed to push the door rather than pull the door to get out. As I walked out the women in the Post Office laughed hysterically. :(

Alright, one of my most embarrassing moments came when I was going to tennis practice. I had shorts on and got out of my car near the park I was practicing at. My shorts had a button fly and it conveniently broke right at this point and my shorts dropped around my ankles. Luckily the only people to see it were a few homeless people near the entrance to the park. I hauled my shorts up and went to see my coach. He had a piece of twine that we used to make a makeshift belt to hold them up during practice. :)

Oh, and I guess more in line with the original picture, the first time I rode the subway in New York I made a last minute attempt to get on, not really knowing how to gage how much time I had. My foot got stuck out the door, which was pretty scary. The New York natives knew something about this though and quickly hit the emergency switch to open the door again.

Today I fell out of the subway on the way home. I don't know how.. because I'm pretty sure I lifted my foot when I was stepping out, but the subway was packed.. (Maybe someone tripped me -_-;;)

Actually, it was more like I flew out of the subway..

Lets see, when I was in cadets, I had my zipper not zipped up like twice? The first time was during uniform inspection and the second time I was giving a speech in front of a class (was at camp so everyone was of equal rank, so I didn't have corporals and sergeants screaming down my back).

I've walked into lamp posts, glass doors, automatic doors (damned things were slow), street signs, and a tree once...Yea...

Indeed. I detest automatic doors that open very slowly. I've never run into one but always have to stop just inches away when it doesn't open fast enough. Good thing I have good brakes.

I walked into a post before back in junior high school. It was a waist-high post (to prevent cars from entering the school grounds). Some guys were yelling somewhere, so I looked over my shoulder while I was walking and didn't see the post. My sister was laughing. One or two people might've saw, but I just quickly pretended nothing happened. :P

My sister told a joke like that today and since nobody laughed, she stood there with a dead serious look and said "this is supposed to be funny". The latter made everybody laugh so this is how to solve such a situation. Naturally we are always told such things AFTER we screw up, but that's life.

Btw your avatar looks really fitting for your story. It looks like it could be you a moment after you told the joke.

I went up to the McDonald's and asked for a Happy Meal because they had some dinky toy that would've made nice desk deco. And the dude told me that I should be playing with girls rather than with toys. That was incredibly embarassing. My response was that he should be flipping girls instead of flipping burgers. However, I then realized that what I said didn't make much sense. Fail.

I've had millions of really embarassing moments... hard to choose one...
Never mind, here's one. Me and the other girls at my school were changing for gym, and I was trying to get my shirt off. (Forgetting I had nothing on underneath it.) I finally got it off... realized I had nothing on underneath anhd ran to get my gym kit out from under the bench, when this boy came in. Luckily, I had my back turned, but it was still dead embarassing...

There was this one time when I was at Friedman's going to the restroom. For some reason, I didn't seem to be paying attention to where I was going, so I ended up going into the women's restroom. I didn't realize what I had done until a lady at the sink (she was the only one in the room) told me that I was in the wrong restroom. She didn't seem to be mad at me or anything. Even so, I got out of there as soon as I could and went into the right restroom. At least no one in the area saw me make that stupid mistake. Since then, I've been careful not to let my brain go into automatic mode.

I once had the very clean clear-glass-door issue. It was in an electronics store where they usually have the side doors opened too, but that day they only the middle section was open. I looked away to some product on the way out when I walked into the clear glass door. Store clerk made some silly remark about it, we laughed, I blushed a little and walk out the correct exit.

I have three that stands out at the moment ^^;

1. This happened in my final year of high school. I was walking towards the 'Matric room' and suddenly my tutor called me. So, while he's talking to me, I make way to start opening the door of the Matric room. As I grab the handle, I felt something 'puni' in my hands. Turning my head from my tutor, I was shocked to find a fellow female classmate's boob there.
Once I realised what had happened, I pulled away and repeated "I'm sorry" a few times ^^; She didn't mind though and I'm glad she's such an open person. My close male friend just looked at me with a sad look on his face. Lolols, needless to say, I was grilled for info >__>
2. I remember rushing off to class and because the distance was from one building to the other... I *really* ran. That was my first mistake. I tripped and fell down the stairs, my bag flying over my head, skirt flipping up and my knees skidding on the stairs from the top to the bottom. I got up quickly and faced my classmates with a "I'm okay" and a nervous smile. I didn't even notice that my knee was a bit scraped.
3.This one happens often ^^; I'm always spilling my tea at work or tripping over boxes...
This makes me look totally accident prone but, I'm not that bad, I think T_T

Walked into a glass door, a very OBVIOUS one at that (according to my friends) and it went BANG. It didn't crack, but i felt my head throb like a * afterwards, and i even had a bump like those you used to see in cartoons when you were young. It was so huge that everyone could feel it without trying to find it. Oh, it was a rehearsal studio i frequented so everyone who saw laughed and I guess the embarrassment went away quickly because I laughed too.

I am a very clumsy person and I run into, trip over, snag, and drop things a lot. Ive ran into people, boxes, shelves, doors, walls and a lot of other stuff. Dont know the most embarrassing but once I was going to orientation for a program in my highschool and i had entered an auditorium from the top and was about to turn into the aisle to go down stairs and sit in a seat but instead i turned into the back of a chair. I fell over it and was turned upside down into the seat and my legs were left sticking up. It made a loud noise and everyone looked up and i just laughed really loud which made it worse cause it echoed.
