According to the Los Angeles Times, Taro Aso has become the Prime Minister of Japan. Like the former PM Yasou Fukuda, he had a family member serve as prime minister in the past. He is more hawkish than Fukuda, and has made frequent visits to the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo. Aso has held four Cabinet posts, competed in the Olympics as a clay-shooter and he likes manga, according to the linked article. lololol he likes manga, sweet! :3
is that the otaku prime minister?
quite possibly.
...Another Japanese prime minister? x_x"
3 in two years, and if the LDP falls in the upcoming elections, there will be a 4th one from the Democratic Party of Japan.
"manga banzai!!"
He loves Rozen Maiden, but have no love for China and Korea. Think about it....
"Rozen Aso" 0.o
AWESOME!! rozen aso wins! I love this guy both cuz he reads manga and he makes ballsy statements
I heard that people are saying bad things about him. One reason just being because he likes manga...
yah commenters in japan probe are already QQing moar about him. and people wonder why japan PMs dont last long. People bash them with a beatstick before they even have the opportunity to do their job.
He's big on manga and anime. As Minister of Foreign Affairs, he created the International Manga Award in 2006, posted the Japanese government's Top 10 lists for anime and manga, and utilized manga (especially Detective Conan) at international conferences (e.g. G8, NPT talks, etc.). It'll be interesting to see if he continues to pursue integrating manga with politics...^^
He is my kind of leader! I wish every leader of every nation in the world was the same XD
LOL Interesting...
neh, given the volatile political hot zone, he should probably stay off manga for a while although i dare say he will be using manga one way or the other when he calls for a general election next month...
I dont think it would be much a big deal compared to people's hate of his statements. That guy talks straight to the point and people get offended so easily and whine about it. If its going to be about politics he needs to keep that in check more than his love for manga.
I think his fame for being 'Rozen Aso' is getting quite an unnecessary inflation here. I really don't know what to think of it. Analysts are even speculating about how his character can be linked to his popularity among 'certain' groups of Japanese people. Facepalm.jpg.
I don't like this guy he will worst Japan diplomatic with China. Japan currently still have not so good relationship with China because of him bah...
Rozen Aso wins! That must be because of Pen-chan XD
OMG.... No love for USA also. WTF http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007/mar/23/japan.usa
