Ghost in the Shell fans may be interested in this Arm Suits figure available next Feb for 10,290 yen.
Looks plasticy to me but would probably look good with a lick of paint.
More pics at AmiAmi.
Anybody have any scoop on a new GITS series?

Damn I love GITS. The action sequences are epic, and the plot lines are better than most movies. Plus, the Mecha designs/ weapon designs are wicked. If there is a new series out my gf is getting laid tonight. Lol.

never liked the arm suit, i prefer the tachikoma think tanks. for some reason, my first impression were arm slaves from full metal panic when i saw the pictures of the figure.

maybe a Hygogg. But this thing looks like a crazy hybrid. It has the wheels, and the gun turret is similar to the idea of the gigabachi. The other armored suit on that news post a couple of weeks ago was great too.

There has been no confirmation and/or steady rumors of a new season of GitS. The closest thing to that would be the Live Action movie of GitS; which, to tell the truth, I'm not even sure of whether or not the idea's still floating around or if there's been actual progress.

However, New York Anime Festival's coming up, and Bandai's got a conference. Conferences often bring news of a new series; meaning you may just hear word of a new GitS season. But for now, no confirmation that I know of ;)

well, considering how popular the series is, theres bound to be a third season. solid state society sets it up pretty well too

GITS is one of my top favorite animes. I love the storyline. Period. The animation is awesome. I haven't been able see the movies yet. And I have about four episodes left on the first season I haven't caught yet. I doubt another season but it wouldn't hurt to continue an epic show.

I much prefer the look of the JSDF suit (http://www.hlj.com/product/WAVKK-26), but this one is certainly pretty nice (I already have a cute lil' articulated Tachikoma who sits on my monitor. I've yet to find a matching Fuchikoma for a reasonable price though).

I like how the sub-arms are a nod to the Landmates from Appleseed (one of Shirow's earlier works).
