probably showing off the dog's training, my old labrador retriever can do those tricks as well. I think labs are easier to train than any other dog breed.
I agree, I have taught my dog to sit like this, and to bow down, roll over, beg, talk, whine, paw, other paw, and he can recognize about 80 word combinations like "go get your tennis ball, and lay down on your bed". Hes half lab, and I think all they want to for you to be happy with them. Oh.. and a cookie. Kind of like people.
