LOL at Windows ME. Was anybody unlucky enough to use that?
As a Windows user way back then, I was convinced that mac users were strange after experiencing OS8.

When Windows XP first came out and was super buggy I thought it ironic Microsoft used "XP" as its tag as it looks like the emoticon for "dead". Windows Dead, good one.

Millenium Edition... Also known as the true bug of Y2K. Saw it in action once and I was so glad to have kept 98 at that time.

I'd say that Microsoft didn't try too hard in terms of desktop interface.
I'm in awe each time I see the easy program and windows management in the newest OS X.

Well, well... At least I'm much used to XP now (It wasn't too difficult anyway).

I have the distinction (misfortune?) of having used nearly every version of Windows from 3.1 on and having DOS experience at the age of 5 (loading games from floppy disk).
We're talking, 3.1, NT, 95, 98, 2000, ME, Server 2k3, XP, Vista. My Mac experience however is fairly limited to the earlier builds of OSX and grade school memories of 8 or 9.

I used Me for a full two years. It was a decent, stable OS for it's time.

People who say that it sucked just sucked at using in. It wasn't friendly for stupid users. It would become unstable pretty fast if you didn't maintain the services, processes, registry and startup. In a way, I'm thankful for Me, because it taught me how to do just that.

I've had ME for a long time, and never really had any problems with it :)
But I refuse to switch to Vista, at least not in the next few years. XP may have come a long way, but I think its quite stable now.
But I also use linux on the side too ^^; Would love to try Mac OS too.

Ive got Vista. Its fine, I dont know what everyone is complaining about. Its not really much different than XP, but maybe a bit nicer looking. I havent had any problems with programs or usability. Maybe its just not retard proof? Lol. j/k

also had a dab at OS8. found that to be an unsettling experience... Still not convinced by leopard. but I'm not interested in vista

I had to once do support for a graphic design company in Tokyo that had decided to keep the Windows ME that came with their workstations and tried to make it work as a network (in an apartment-turned-office). I told them to forget that idea. I tried to help them, but it was a lost cause.

I don't think that's a very accurate screenshot of Windows ME... It can be more accurately depicted with a single Blue Screen of Death.

Seriously, Windows NT in my opinion was by far the best. Although you didn’t have usb support (non-hack), it was the most stable windows platform to date (after service pack 6). I’ve grown to like XP Pro, and will most likely never update to vista. The same went for Windows 98SE. I used 98 and skipped over windows ME. The honest truth is Vista has nothing to offer me. Widget and Glass Windows? Eh…. Linux had that for a long time. Perhaps next time billy-o I’ll buy your os. Eh, my female 2 cents…. The boys rule IT anyway.
