My MG Strike Freedom in progress, I only painted the black part and the Gold part, other than that, I didn't paint anything else... I'm a busy man, and I can't buy much paint where I'm from.. I'll post a picture of this once i'm done.
Nice close-up. Inking on the gold parts looks good.
Nice job so far. Trust me, it's worth painting the whole suit... ;-)
Wrenley, where in the Philippines are you from. if your in manila you'd find a store in the basement level of SM megamall where they have a complete set of Tamiya spray paint and acrylics.
oh btw nice work, what did you use on the panel lines?
best to use fine point markers at least .5 or lower
I usually use a staedler .01 technical pen. unfortunately the paint clogs them up fast and each head cost about P500 about $11usd. I'd often try to clean them but after 2 or 3 cleaning the pen's head is rendered useless. so I just use them with dilluted ink and wash over the panel lines. ^^
fine point markers can be erased by using cotton with out problems and its cheaper P16 per marker and it can last up to 4 MG models ^^
I always wonder how you all paint the verniers. It seems real delicate to use either brush or masking tapes.
those are part of the inner skeleton :P
How about those that are one piece with the front piece of the head? MG strike and all SDs ( I assume ) has those in one piece with their head.I'm not too sure but I believe that it is the same for MG Freedom.
that looks nice indeed! thou i don't paint my gunpla i try maximize in panel lining as much as i can coz for where i'm from tamiya paint doesn't exist here...
Ey Marvin, I'm from Bohol, hehehe.. I can't buy much paint here.. I use those spray paints like Parlux or something.. and for the panel lines, I use the gundam marker, gm-01, trust me, i know you guys can do a better job since my hand shakes like crazy! haha
I heard the remedy for shakey hands was to pee on it once. I know its gross but I know some folks who swear by it. ^^
Hi Wrenley!I'm from Cebu,we're neighbors!...there's a shop at the 2nd level in Ayala that sells Tamiya paints.I bought the basic flats - white, black, yellow, blue, red and then gunmetal. But it's nice to know that you're using alternative paints like Paralux coz' Tamiya paints are quite expensive. I actually use Painter's acrylic putty for my 1/144's. Nice work!
cool dude.. nice close up.. does anyone realize that painting will increase the weight of the kit?? i paint my MG SF wing and back pack ( i mean i use top coat) and it is very heavy.. lucky that MG SF have a good stabilization on it's legs..
Thanks for the advice marvin! I'll definitely try that.. probably before taking a bath :p.. And Zenbonsakura, thanks for the tip, i'll look for that shop if ever I can visit cebu :).. Also Zack, I never knew that, Probably that's why I find it difficult to pose with the wings for now hehehe..
Looks good.
