Quick question: Do you think I should replace Puchi Blurbs with twitter? You would need to have a twitter account though. I would use the Twitter APi to integrate it into dannychoo.com and you would be able to update from almost anywhere.
Twi-wha? I feel so behind of times, swept by the current and unable to catch trends (I am outdated)... Nah, I like the current format, thank you kindly. It's simple enough and works perfectly. :)
Would still prefer Puchi Blurbs. Having the ability to update from almost anywhere would mean losing visitors to the site. Won't want to see the site go down due to another digg-effect (twitter in this case) ^^;
nonono no twitter, i dont even though what that means but to go through a registration kills me, stay with the puchi, (gangsta)
hmm. i have absolutely no idea what this is. will have to look up on it first.
Hmm... Not sure Danny... Using Twitter would bring more visitors to the site. Also some who don't visit regularly would still know what is going on with everyone right from the ease of their desktop if they are using something like Twitterriffic. I would like to post from anywhere... Would it reduce the load on your server? Hmm... Maybe it would be a nice move...
Oh... I have had people ask to follow me on Twitter and I'm sure it's from them having visited dannychoo.com My HP link on my page here links to my Twitter page.
I think it would be cool if you could use both together. That way you could use the twitter functionality if you have it set up, but if you don't it would just default to PuchiBlurbs' default setup.
Nooo, stick to puchi blurbs, having any account ather than the one now is one too many. ahhg, my brain!
I think puchi blurbs is better, allows everyone to participate. I'm using twitter cause I have no idea how to do a puchi blurb for my own site.
if you don't need the sms/email functionality and want a plain shoutbox or tagboard, you might want to check out cbox. http://www.cbox.ws/
Puchi Blurbs are great, as I don't use them all the time. It's convenient to have it accessable when on the site, whenever necessary. Logging in on something else or anything sounds just way inconvenient for lazy people like me ^^ Right now is a good formula, people use the Puchi Blurbs quite a bit.
although updating blurbs via email or sms is a novel idea, it just might end up filling your blog with clutter. it might be better to stick with the Puchi Blurbs. folks who contribute their blurbs would usually want to check out your daily entries anyway.
I wouldn't mind Twitter (since I already have one already), but that'd mean some dependency on Twitter being up all the time. Though, automatic updates on Twitter when a new article goes up would be kinda neat. :3
Nooo!!! No Twitter Twotter or what ever it is that you want to replace our beloved Puchi Blubs with!! no no no no no!!!!! Onegai.
No Twitter, keep the Puchi Blurbs.
Still, Puchi Blurbs For the Win.
I like Twitter and have the account, but on here, I prefer Puchi Blurbs.
i've heard of twitter but i haven't tried their service. if it benefits DC by inviting more people here then i won't object but i still prefer puchi blurbs ^^
I don't wanna sign up and I wouldn't so, no, please don't. I don't know what Twitter is. I guess it's a program which allows 'puchi blurbs' to be posted on multiple blogs/sites? I can't think of any other reason for you to want to switch...
I don't update puchi blurbs much anyways but I do use it from time to time. I don't have a twitter account, nor do I want one so that would totally remove the option for me... But my opinion is not as vocal as others here.
I think your Puchi Blurbs format is really original Danny.
Looks like we keep Puchi Blurbs - will add an RSS feed for it soon.
Hey Danny, have you thought of this? Add an optional field, like Amazon ID is, for the user Twitter ID. Then, when the user tries to post something to puchi blurbs it will check that value and, if present, will post to Twitter. If not it would just post normally. I haven't used Twitter on a site before, so I don't know if it's possible to parse the data and mix it with Puchi Blurbs, but it would be cool if you could do that so both options are available.
