Confession time - I used to be like this when I first started out liking Kylie Minogue. I had badges of her all over me - went out in public as normal. Will try to get the scans of the photos when I'm back in the UK next.
Anybody here done something similar?

Hehe, George Trombley of www.Yesjapan.com is a big fan of the circa 2001~ roster of Morning Musume, remember seeing tons of posters and figurines of the girls back when I was studying Japanese hardcore back in 2002/2003.

I would (almost) consider doing something similar to this guy if I was at an anime con/Akihabara, would probably use badges/stuff of many different anime tho.

i used to ADORE Orlando Bloom, and my notebook for high school was covered in pictures of him, i wore Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings T-shirts all the time. My walls were covered in Orlando Bloom Pictures and i had a cardboard cutout of him as well. Still have him, he's now in hiding under my bed... but after i actually got a real live boyfriend and i saw the movie Troy, i decided i was too old to be obsessed with a movie star. I then went on to collect figures and anime merchandise. My friends still debate on which is worse, Orlando Bloom or Anime... I'm just lucky i got out in time. I was sooo wanting to be 18 so i could get an "I <3 Orlando Bloom" Tattoo. I would have really regretted that.

Hmm... the closest I got to complete fandomness was on Rock bands... I once had lots of metal band posters on my bedroom walls. Tons of Ozzy stuff too.

But I had a complete change of mind after getting older.

Though I still have lots of things I like very much (anime and figures?), I tend to get away from fandomness and it's sympthoms.

With the Internet, forums, blogs and chats I realized that sometimes, being a fan makes some people completely blind, ignorant and even dangerous.

It's a lot like religion. Some people will deal with it in a positive way, some people don't.

yea most I ever had were anime wallscrolls and posters on my walls back in middle/high school, and even first year of college, but I grew out of that phase. Now, all my posters are lonely in a box outside by the stairwell...

And just like DancingQueen now, instead if i have figures around my room -_- lol

i was like that with Evangelion. (well maybe not so much) I tried to buy every Kayodo Eva figure i found. Some books all the soundtracks. Even the mini cd single. I got EVA DVD, regular and Special Edition ones. The Movies >not the new ones though.
I think that when i saw the end of it . It was almost like a religious experience for me.

Did anyone else feel the same ?? or am i the only one??

I used to be crazy about my metal bands back when i was younger - i have a slipknot "S" emblazoned on my right arm - i dont regret ever getting it though - its what it meant to me at the time and will always stay with me - literally!its not my only tattoo but yeah i generally have to think about a tattoo for a year or two before i get one - i <3 Orlando Bloom coulda been pretty brutal in later life. I had posters of my fave bands covering my walls - always scared the girls away...i wonder why...it was only slipknot...
