Since Danny just made a post of mecha figures I figured I'd ask this for my first post. Out of all the Mecha series ever what's your favorite mech and why?

My favorite has got to be the Zephyranthes Full Vernian from Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Something about the design just makes me like it. Plus it's a particularly strong suit until Gato destroys it..... Why do you like your favorite mech?

Yuri eroge artist. Well, sort of.
Mine has got to be Gundam Zero from the Wing series. It was the first Gundam series I watched when I was around 7 and the thing that got me captivated was Zero's wings. Freaking uber. :D

My favourite Gundam now is unicorn gundam, it was deathsythe(all the versions) before that though. My favourite non-gundam MS would be Quebeley, I guess it's because of the wierd design.

Freedom. The way it makes its debut fight, to the music of Meteor, was just mad amazing.

Also, I don't get bored of its full burst mode, especially when it does it upside down :P

Like you Arisato-kun, I enjoy the the RX-78-2 GP-03D. I like the main character, not like all the other characters who either have some special abilities or horrible history and needs gundams to take out their stress. Kou Iraki is the main character of the pilot of GP01 and 03. I like 03 with the attachment solely cuz its large, massive, and can dissintigrate anything in its path (watch the movie if you haven't done so).
Other than that unit, I enjoy a lot of the Titans Trial Team test units, especially TR-5 and TR-6 with their large attachments. ^_^
Hurray for large attachments and massive weaponry!!!

The 03's bulky size kinda turned me off it. I mean it's ridiculously powerful when it's fighting Neue Zeil but I'm just not a fan of mobile armors....

The High-Nu Gundam looks pretty good, considering the fact that it was the inspiration for S.Freedom and all.

I still dig the good old Zeta and Quebeley variants, and the Unicorn is just sweet ^_^

The Physallis has a special place in my heart. It takes guts to pilot a mobile suit carrying a nuke in a can.

Then again, I have a tendacy to go for non-mainstream MS... GM-Powered... Ez-8... Over Flag... 105 Dagger... the Orb Union MSes... man, it's so hard to decide!

Oooh yeah. GP02A 4-ever! I think it's one of the best unique looking Gundam I've ever seen. It looks like it could kick every other Gundam's ass.

Though I also like Wing Zero Custom and Strike Freedom. I'm also starting to like Exia a lot.

I have way too many favorites so, I'll break it down like this:

Fave "Real" Robot mech: YF-19
Fave Super Robot mech: Mazinkaiser
Fave AU Gundam: Strike Freedom
Fave AU Non-Gundam MS: Overflag
Fave UC Gundam: ZZ Gundam
Fave UC Non-Gundam MS: Gouf Custom
Fave Banpresto/SRW "Real" Robot mech: Alteisen Riese
Fave Banpresto/SRW Super Robot mech: Vaisaga

Oops, I didn't post my "whys"... YF-19 because it's plane mode is the most badass looking of anything in Macross and I love the forward swept wind design. Mazinkaiser because it's the strongest of all the Mazingers (sorry Grendizer fans, that's just what I think), and Mazinger is my fave Super Robot franchise. The Strike Freedom because it has everything I'd ever want on a Gundam...dual beam rifles, mobile weapon pod system (fin funnels, bits, DRAGOONs, etc.), beam shields, and cool looking wings. The Overflag because it just looks too cool. ZZ Gundam because out of all the UC Gundams it seems the most over-the-top and I love my Gundams over-the-top. The Gouf Custom because it was able to kick major ass against a team of Gundams, plus I love large gatling guns. The Alteisen Riese because it took my former favorite, the Alteisen, and just made it that much cooler (love giving it the hammer). The Vaisaga because what isn't cool about a dark ninja/knight super robot?

Otherwise, Maybe hi-Nu, although I'm not a fan of the slight redesign for the MG.

Non Gundam, it would be the Sazabi or the Kaempfer. The only 2 non gundam kits I have from the UC.

Favorite because of:

Power: GP02 - Carries a nuke. No other Gundam has that much firepower.
Function: RX-79 - I love real military gear. A Gundam that functions like one is a huge plus.
Looks: MSN-06S Sinanju, Wing Gundam Ver. Ka., Hi-Nu, GN-X

LOL episode 39 of GSD had the opposite effect on me than it had on most of the people on this board (a lot of people call it the low point of Gundam because they think Kira became "god" in that episode). I, on the other hand, saw it as the impressive debut of my new favorite Gundam (Freedom was #1 before) with a nice TM Revolution song playing the background.

Favorite mecha though, I have to go with Cobray Gordon's Dis Astranagant. You can't beat a scythe wielding shotgun blasting demonic wings bearing bits and powered by the souls of the dead and black hole shooting Mecha. You can't beat that.

For me its all about the Gundam Ez-8 from the 08th MS team, that suit gets shot at, cut up, and even gets temporarily disabled by the Gouf custom. But even then it still keeps on fighting all the way until punching the Apsalus III in the cockpit, going down in a blaze of unbelievable glory (quite literally). That bad boy is really tough and can certainly hold its own against any suit Zeon has to offer...of course it has to be on the ground only, haha.

RX-78 NT-1, Alex. I always had a bias towards stuff that's armoured. It's barely seen in the anime 0080, but I thought it was one of the earliest cool Gundams.
