I just got back from Hong Kong a few hours ago. thanks to the typhoon, my flight had been delayed till the next day and i had to be at the check in counter 4 hours prior to departure. what really sucked was, the seats were first come first served. so not everyone was able to get on the plane. i was lucky to be the third in line for the check in. it was funny that no one was lining up for check in because everyone was sleeping around. well, i was lucky to get back. i will post more pictures in my blog later when i open up those figures. sorry about the crappy pictures. the mikuru, nagato, saber and multi didn't even cost more than 70 bucks all together. edit: 70 bucks for mikuru, nagato, multi, saber: sorry, 50 bucks was for mikuru and nagato together!
"mikuru, nagato, saber and multi didn't even cost more than 50 bucks all together?" Wow. Very good price.
yeap~ thanks to overstock!
I love my Gunbuster Chogokin. Probably my favourite of the bunch.
i wanted to pick up the gurren lagann chogokin too, but the store i went didn't have it in stock. i found some other stores that had it in stock but the price was insanely high. you have a lot of chogokins in your collection?
I have 10. I wanted Gurren Lagann too, but he's nowhere near me. Price is usually $300 US, isn't it?
Is there a significant discount for buying legit pvc / prepainted resin figures in Hong Kong? I am going to Hong Kong later this year. Also, how do you bring back boxes of figures? Is it safe to put figure in suitcases?
in hong kong, figures cost a little bit more than yen price so it is a lot cheaper than america. but you need to know which stores to buy from and do a lot of price check from store to store. some stores may sell certain items for a lot more than the other. (don't know why) crazy discounts are usually given to items that are overstocked or unpopular. i would say, its alright to but in a suitcase. but please do put it in a hard one. my suitcase was soft so some of the boxes were damaged slightly.
OMG, I love you!!!! Gunbuster the unit !!!! @_@ (going crazy). Biggest fan of giant mechs >.< Sorry that you had to wait four hours due to typhoon, I heard the police were not doing a well considerate job for the passengers. I really wanted to go to HK this year, but school got the better of me (even the marks were only moderate in return). But seriously, I am not joking and siding with Fran here, things in HK are legit and really cheap. Bought a lot of Gundam models and figurines in original package. You just have to be aware of stores that look really suspicious (ie. if they sell something that is not legit, their entire store might not as well). You can really tell by the heavy amounts of watermarked boxes or figurines that look deteriorated from its original design in either colour or form. Fran, good job, tell us more of what you bought and how big did your luggage get?
thanks! the services from the airlines were a joke. the police were pretty much useless. it was a fun drive to the airport though. haha. i saw a lot of fake lucky star online special figures going for around 10 bucks cdn. i also bought some doujin comics and clothing. i didn't buy a lot of clothing because i didn't really need anymore. also got a lot of baby clothing. thats it~
wad's the first aid box doing there? and smth's missing - box of tissues
its a super sexy nude figure inside:P go check out "a nurse you don't know" its awesome.
I have that Saber figure and honestly...I can't keep my eyes off her.
yea, its actually a pretty nice figure.
everything u bought all together less than $50? i dunno where u buy it, its very cheap and check for fake stuff ^^" since H.K. do have quite a bit of "fake" versions and i did a clearance sale in H.K. just like what you did during my summer vacation ^^
edit: $70 = mikuru, nagato, saber, multi they are real because i bought them at well known stores.
The real figures have a shiny sticker on their boxes (at least most of them do). I too am a victim of buying fake figures.
not really~ fake ones have shinny stickers on them too. but luckily, there isn't a wide variety of fake figures out there and you gotta know which fakes were made.
"edit: 70 bucks for mikuru, nagato, multi, saber: sorry, 50 bucks was for mikuru and nagato together!" Even if this is the case, that's still a bargain pair! I also can't take my eyes off the Saber figurine! Hee hee!
heh~ everyone is liking that saber figure.
Nice haul you got there! I see that the typhoon caused some nuisance in Hong Kong as well after it left my country XD
thanks! the typhoon messed everyone up. few people died and some people to go surfing haha. 1 guy gone missing. since i knew my flight was going to be canceled, i had nth to do and went for a massage.
Wow, SoC Gunbuster.

i want that yoko figure, and badly
thats prob one of the nicest looking figure that i have in my collection.
i am dying for another display case for my new figures. this really sucks. the price for a displace case could buy me a figure!
