This SV-51α will be available next Feb and retail for 22,890 yen - by Yamato. Is there anybody out there that enjoyed Macross Zero? I loved the first few EPs then it started to go downhill fast. The ending made me spit in a vat of rotting hell. Clip below - the CG and animation was great though - but as we anime lovers know - tis not enough.

I've actually never heard of this! I don't know why, I've been under the impression that there was only the old Robotech and Macross Plus. I've always loved this Yamato line, but they're a bit expensive.

I didn't enjoy it as much as I have the other shows with Marcoss in their titles. Macross Plus was probably the best for me. This Macros Zero is great visually, but otherwise, it was something the franchise could have done without.

The first 2 eps of zero were amazing, then it spiraled down into poo. The final battle was a wonder of CG animation but by then the plot was so full of nonsense that you didn't really care anymore. Standard modern Kawamori... Personally, I want the Ivanova version of the SV-51, and a replacement YF-19 T_T

i enjoyed it.. better than macross2... that was poo..and robotech... sheesh.. we would all like a macross title that was just pure action, but with all there is some mystisism...and alot of songs...O_o overall.. wish they would make some more macross..:D

For me the original macross series is still the best... I wonder if there will ever be a new macross series that will revolve around the megaroad and the original characters especially hikaru (rick hunter), lisa hayase (lisa hayse), minmei

Fraid not. The director has officially stated that he considers the story between Hikaru, Misa and Minmay to be finished so we won't be seeing them again. Besides, they are considered MIA since before macross 7 as their ship, the first megaroad, vanished. I'm kinda curious about Macross Frontier tho. That's the new show to celebrate 25 years of macross. Not sure how I feel about the VF-25 tho... But so long as Kawamori keeps his whole mystic vibe out and severely tone down the effect of music, then it should be OK. But they really need to go back to what made the first show so good, exciting mecha battles and character relationships.

The new Macross Frontier is going to have to kick some serious Ass to make up for Macross 7 and Macross Zero. I love Macross, I breath Macross, Please God almighty make the new Macross worth a S$*#(@!! The only cool thing about Macross Zero was the fighter scenes and CGI, the actual story was crap. And let's not get into Macross 7, that was the biggest disappointment of my life, I am so glad a got the DVD's on sale and did not pay full price.

Me too, I remember very well Macross, Minmei and Hikaru, was the best one sure, Zero had great battle scenes but is all, and Frontier I'm watching right now, saddly appears to come to an end, but I'm enjoying the show, and waiting good mechs and figs comming soon.
