Yes, in Vietnam. I don't like this fruit though. And I have nightmares of my sister putting it in the refrigerator and make every thing smells like it.

Well to each their own, I also know ppl who obsess over eating it.

I like eating it every now and then. But I also cannot stand that smell which stays in the refrigerator for several days when stored in there.

All of our durian is imported from Asia, so I guess it's in season whenever it's in season on the other side of the globe. ^^

Durian. Exclusively Asian. Westerners can't stand the taste, but we love 'em.

Tried the orange-coloured ones yet, Rokku?

Ahhh...durian.  There's no durian season here, although I do wish that it exists.  Nothing beats opening one.  One thing I miss after moving to the US from Indonesia.  Have told my fellow coworkers, and they are intrigued enough to brave the smell...that is, until they really smell it in person  ^_^;

Hate Durians too. Smell is unbearable, my parents no longer buy it because the smell gets all over the refrigerator and gets into everything. Last time they bought 2 our house stank for a good 2 weeks. Pass, pass, pass.

Durian sure is stinky, but the flavour is really good! I have been to some places in Asia where they often have western tourists-- there are signs asking that people do not bring the fruit nearby! :-)

Wait... why is this post labeled "Music?" :-)

i've heard before that to accept durian, one must taste it first. and i agree now that i've had durian as filling in a steamed bun. but prior to, i would never get near durian.. the smell was that bad to me before. i can stand the smell now though.

give it a taste if you haven't yet and are thrown off by the smell.
