Those who know a bit about Japanese culture will know whats going on in this pic.
I was shocked and then realized what the picture was all about (the text on screen does not help).
Who can shed some light on this?

Probably, but are you saying you have never had seal-on-a-stick? Its really popular at the fairs out here, plus they are tastier than Dolphins.. at least the baby cubs are.

You know, if they just clubbed them first, they wouldnt need so many guys to manuver them. I dont know what Omochi is, but it looks tasty.

Omochi is um.... stick rice balls. i think they just have a whole punch of rice, and they have this wood bowl and hammer, large ones, and they just pound the crap out of the rice until its smooth, IT TASTE GREAT.
now i'm not in japan and i miss it =(

I reckon its a pic of some mega-mochi cookoff, with a seal's head pasted on to the mochi lump itself.

Well yeah it would make a whole bunch of sense if that would only be Omochi because the sticks they have is perfect for making them XD

Lol, seal mochi. For a sec when I was looking at the small thumbnail on the home page I thought it was a group stabbing of some seal...with no blood surprisingly.
