Have to agree, besides worth that much and not insured!!!!!! Very silly, would go back for family member or pet, which amount to same thing.

family member comes first, of all things. If it's a life threatening situation then I'll forget about the pet and figures. lol... I want to squeeze that cat's face, it just has that lazy, sleepy smile
I live alone so I have to be a little resourceful. I used to be in the Disaster management Team in our university and I learned that preparation is always the best weapon with any disaster. I created an escape plan for me when something like fires happen. [1] put cat in the his box [2] get them to get out first (if one of them is around) [3] 2 large container bags to stuff my Medical books (cause they're expensive and I've got tons of notes stuck in there), My novels and manga then figures..uniform and shoes..and my rice cooker. then run like hell ^^ and crash on one of my friends house. haha xp
The truth? I think most of us would just panic. Congrats to the guy for being this brave. What I wish I would do is evaluate the situation and try my best to save all those... family first, pet second and collection third. But I really can't say what I would really do.
(1) Save the pet. (2) Save the family member. (3) If I have a collection worth 20M USD, it means my house is theft-proof and fire-proof.

Instead of blindly rushing in, I'll see how out-of-control the fire has become. If it's too far gone, then rushing in is only going to be a futile gesture. Worse, someone else goes in after me and both of us end up dead. At emergencies like these, one cannot afford to make rash, emotional decisions.

it depends on which of my family it is.I kid.naw family 1st then pets and then anything else.my dogs stay out of my house for that reason
Family member, I'd always go back in for them. Dogs, I'd go back for them if I thought I had a good chance of getting them out. The cat would get left though, she wouldn't come back in for me!! Figures and stuff would just have to burn - you may not be able to replace some of them, but not worth risking your life over ^_^

(I'm chinese and our belief says that whatever human like items are burn, they will become your servant in the after life hence why we have a lot of effigy/paper house burning for our ancesters).
