I mentioned how it would be cool to see more original work by members. After posting 15 posts within 24 hrs, I'm finally able to contribute. I know that she's not anime and doesn't fit the usual 2D girl image, but I thought it would be alright. It not the greatest work, but it's a big time personal Photoshop accomplishment for me. I'm pretty proud of it. The background is from an image downloaded from the internet and doctored up just a bit with Adobe Photoshop. As you all can see, it's currently my wallpaper.

its a nice explosive background...what is it? is it a volcano or some space shutter taking off? and wow, did u draw the 2D girl yourself? thats cool skill

Sorry for getting back to you so late. Yeah, I drew her all by my little lonesome. Sketched it, scanned it, and used Photoshop 7 to color it. The explosion is a mushroom cloud I found searching google images. I used the blur effect in Photoshop to give it that appearance.
