No, not Lolicon but Oricon which keeps track of Japans top selling music. The top 5 for this week below. Number 5 is Love Gun by Aya Hirano. Do you recognize the rest?
Holy cow! BAD MUSIC! Just a whole bunch of White Noise (TM). If this is the top 5, we'll in trouble. Japan should stop trying to "imitate" the USA or think they are European (since many White Supremists think this is the 'master race').... Japanese should just be proud of themselves, be themselves, don't try to be something/someone you are not! It's okay to better oneself, but not the other way around....
eh,dw, campaign of converting white to asian also moving smoothly~ See how excited their expressions are, http://www.morbidoptimism.com/forums/2007/05/03/americans-shouldnt-cosplay
That was funny. To elaborate further, it is true that all 'cultures' gain/learn from each other. For example, the English language not too long ago was under the serious threat of becoming 'extinct'... hard to believe since now it is so widespread. Also, english has much of its origin not only in Latin, but in Arabic (due to many centuries of 'missionary work'...) Also, consider latin americans (in particular the original Native Aboriginals) have now adopted much "Spanish" language and culture. So in short, it is 'inevitable' to slowly change and adopt the culture of society --- but the really important issue is to evaluate whether this is beneficial. Lately, much "popular" American music is either, 1) 'manufactured' talentless pop 'stars', or 2) try-hards who just bang their electric guitars "really loud" and act really stupid.... it has been a REALLY LONG time since there was some "star" that was worthy to look up to. ;)
SilentFlute, I disagree. I think there are a lot of great bands out there, especially in the USA. The commercialized bands that lack talent and are puppets you are talking about do take up the majority of most pop stars, but there are fantastic bands that come out with new sounds and a different take on things. They have to be doing something right or else they wouldnt be immitated so much. Plus, we (the US) copy from a lot of other cultures anyway. We amalgamate everything into our culture and call it ours. Every culture does it, so it isnt that disappointing for me. Plus, it gives me more to laugh at. Like French hip-hop.
is that Oricon week 43 report? if you guys are interested...here's the Oricon for week 43 http://wiki.theppn.org/Oricon_Weekly_for_2007_week_43 enjoy ^__^

Seems like Aya Hirano has lost quite a lot of weight
Actually i think its only her face. She seems to look so different from her Haruhi days o_O
whooooahh i see YUI!! yeeeaaah gooo YUI!! love and truth is pretty good. but in my opinion, the b-side, jam is much better. yuilove
I agree! YUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII~!!! I love YUI!!!
i like euforia more 0.0" but ya the AMV look like those chiense Hong Kong AMV and the music is like chinese copying the whtie type of music so.. a copy of a copy of the original (white/ europian/US ppl)
and the first one is kinda obvious lol...
well i still like love gun more than others lol! oh i like yui too, she got a unique voice. anyway, i just hope aya's upcoming single "neophilia" will appear on the oricon board!
L'arc en ciel at top. ok then, no surprises there. I've heard of most of of the other bands/artists but I don't really listen to them (the only one I don't know is the #2 position). I listened to Aya Hirano's first single after they tried to capitolise on the success of the release of God knows, and I just felt that the song carried her before. Her stuff just doesn't grab me in the slightest. Don't think much of her makeover either
Hirano Aya. Nice legs. ^^;
something i've noticed in 90% of the music videos is that the guitarist or main person (Hirano Aya for example) do not play the guitar, and yet they just moving their hands not even matching the music. now i'm not exactly a musician myself, but i do have a bit of experience playing the guitar, and i personally find it very....annoying that they don't just play it normally, or not have if they cannot play the instrument. Hirano Aya is a great example, she played the guitar in LOVE GUN but only uses 2 chords, i have even seen her bring a guitar into a live performance doing the same thing. Don't get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE Hirano Aya's voice/songs, i think LOVE GUN is awsome, it just annoys me to see even real guitarist moving their arms they found the best hentai ever. Anybody else feel this way?
one of our chinese radio stations here has a weekly weekend program on the Oricon chart. today they played Daybreak's Bell on air. everytime i hear the song, images of gundam 00 immediately comes to mind. ^^; but the music video looks kinda plain though.
