Pretty big news. For years people have been trying to implement workarounds to get gmail to work with IMAP. Google have just announced IMAP support for gmail - find out more. I'm syncing apple mail with my gmail account as we speak.
Just talking about this the other day with colleagues and fellow classmates. I glad to see this and will probably set up Apple Mail this weekend. Gmail has become so useful, but I'm surprise by how many people still don't have Gmail accounts.
Correct me if im wrong, but i have had my Apple Mail checking my gmail account for months now, or did i miss something.
Nvm that, just went to found out what its all about, time to do some setting crunching.
this is awesome!!! ^___^
Im fairly computer savvy, but I feel sooooo lost right now.
Oh sh*t! That's awesome news Danny! Just changed my settings and got everything configured in Thunderbird. Thanks for the heads up!
Here is what i did.
Just make a new temporary email address they already come with IMAP/ Forward your real email to this new temp address-you can even delete as email arrive and are forwarded /in your iphone settings, on your Outgoing mail server put your real email address.
You don't even have to notified any email changes since it would seem that you are sending from the real one.
