Need your help in making the next Stormtrooper video. Was going to keep hush about it until it was released but am having trouble thinking of a good tune that has electric guitars in it. Will be getting hold of an electric guitar and heading to Shibuya or Shinjuku to film "Guitar Trooper" soon and would like your suggestions of what track I should use? Was thinking of Van Halens "Jump" but there seems to be more synthesizers than electric guitars in that. Most popular video up until now was Shibuya Dance Trooper below.
nice moves danny... I suggest Never Let you Go by Rick Astley
I hope that was a really bad joke. That'd drive away users not get them to come in lol.
it is a catchy tune lol... trench coat storm trooper dance!!!
BandAid is right. You're smokin something bad.
Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle by Dethklok http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4zYdav57SA
Just one thing to say, if it Dethklok it has to be Thunder Horse, that song rift on the guitar is just too good(IMO, atleast). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BtY8fGvDqU&feature=related
try any of the Dragonforce songs, lots of guitar action
Seconding this if only because it's popular with the target demographic. Personally I'd love to hear any of the various rock/metal covers of various Castlevania/Megaman/etc songs that are out there, but I don't see this as a realistic expectation.
Nice - just checked some out. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=0jgrCKhxE1s
That would be THE song to use. Herman Li is GOD!!
Can't stand the singers voice but the guitar is amazing!
I'm not sure what kind of tune you're looking for but I'm gonna recommend you my fav band, Asian Kung Fu Generation. see http://ajikan.24ji.net/ for videos and audios. They did an songs for the OPs (or EDs) for Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist.
Aerosmith, dude looks like a lady
might be overused but try war pigs or iron man by black sabbath.
killswitch engage - my curse... hahaha just kidding^^
for whom the bell tolls by Metallica
Good one. I would also try for Enter Sandman or Don't Tread on Me from the Black Album.
actually i was looking for more war related ones from them. One crossed my mind but was too depressing.
KISS, Rock and Roll All Night.
If you were thinking Van Halen and guitar, maybe go Panama instead? Otherwise, I'd go with Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult (I mean, it IS Tokyo, lol) or Hell's Bells by AC/DC (on the subject of AC/DC, Back in Black would be awesome for a Darth Vader video)
I like the starting part for Carival from FLCL... Though I think you're probably looking for something heavy...
ummm NICE MOVES DANNY LOL!! i thought Danny was going crazy 00:30 LOL!! i don't know but i'd recommend "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin ^^
Jump is a classic, and you don't necessarily need synthesisers, just put and effect on your guitar amp to try get the right sound. Or feed it through an FX pedal. and btw NO! NO RICK ASTLEY!
Hmm, only 'Don't go crazy' by Metallica comes to mind. Lots of drums also but there's some great electric guitar riffs in there.
Why not this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3PbaFQBgv8 Ofc, that song already has two guitartroopers and a unmasked vader.
Van Halen - Eruption (not much of a melody but a 1,5 minute kickass impro) Rush - Working man or maybe something from rage against the machine
Wow... you got the skill that kills danny =D
Danny, try these out for size: Classic Hard Rock: AC/DC - Thunderstruck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvoeeq-BH4w) Contemp Rock: Nine Inch Nails - Hand that Feeds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk7SKP4PJ2w) J-pop guitar tune: Aya Hirano - God Knows (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfQh20oeZxs) Contemp Pop: Ok Go - Here it Goes Again (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI) Use to listen to Thunderstuck all the time when younger. Love playin Hand that Feeds on Rockband. Every otaku heard God Knows. Here it goes again is awesomely catchy and is a fav.
Argh! links didn't display right. Drop that last parenthesis thru copy n paste
I like the idea of doing Aya...
I'm sure most otaku would... LOL... j/k
lol - I wasn't thinking like that. Now I am.
♪付いて行くよ、どんな辛い、世界の闇の中でさえきっとあなたは輝いて!♪
I like some of the songs here, but I disagree with Aya (though God knows is a really good song). The problem is that if Danny really wants to do a guitar video, he wouldn't be really able to pull off some impressive moves to such a song. If he really wants to go all out, he should seriously consider something hard/old school or perhaps even into the metal/heavy side of things. Danny, if you're gonna want to do a guitar trooper video, I'm only going to presume that you're not actually going to play guitar and are therefor choreographing it. If so, you should do something like Thunderstruck ==Metal (prog/heavy/melodic death etc)== A Perfect Circle: Judith (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23eZMdixAuk) Night Wish: Tenth Man Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxfzGE6htfk) Metallica: Seek and Destroy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUoWZ_zcPpE_) In Flames: Trigger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUoWZ_zcPpE) God Forbid: Better Days (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21iDWQgiJKU) ==Rock/Alternative== Red Hot Chili Peppers: Can't Stop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldMUEJBA1tk) Rage Against the Machine: Sleep now in the Fire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz8wU9DdbqU) Paul McCartney: Helter Skelter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV18scOsX54) --best version of the song Queen: Another One Bites the Dust (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMenB9Ywh2Q) --more bass then guitar, but who's counting strings? ==Iffy Songs you may/may not be able to choreograph== Bucket Head: Jordan (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=OTcg9JybEp8)
YES !! Nightwish ! http://youtube.com/watch?v=GlmvAlB-mMc
Yeah the first thing that came into my head was God Knows... but it might be a bit too unoriginal or impractical.
Extreme's Do you want to play http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVi6H-8N6NA I think the title goes well with your blog and the song has pretty good guitar parts, infact its right at the beginning.
Doh, title is "Play With Me" Its getting too late for typing n thinking for me. XD
Second thought, How about Iron Maiden's "The Trooper", think this title suits you more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgqxQmAbTBc
"H.T." by Tsuneo Imahori http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzHe4U5c5Oc I think this would suit you...^_^
What about Ash Like Snow? Many of your target demographic must like it. Given what it was used for.
Danny you should definitely keep it real. Lostandfound mentioned the FLCL soundtrack. That would be The Pillows, of course, and that is an EXCELLENT idea! Aj-kan was also mentioned by kmyk and that's another great idea! The song that they did for the Naruto opening theme is Haruka Kanata from the album, Houkai Amplifier. There is also Maximum The Hormone, of course, who does the opening theme for Death Note. Aside from these, I would also recommend songs by Ken Yokoyama or maybe Dir en Grey.
Danny if you trying to pull off playing the guitar I'd suggest trying some punk music ala The Ramones. It'd be cool to see you doing some 3-chord strumming and it wouldn't require more than some head bobbing and jerking around depending on how you want to do it. Blitzkrieg Bop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7FdJajqxmU Do you wanna Dance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcsVOFh-Ipo
Danny! Please tell us when and where you will be filming! I'd really like to come and watch :D :D
Me as well... I would like to see. Give me an amp and music and I'll drag my synth over there as well.
You have a synthesizer with a strap? Thinking next week between wed and Friday evening after work.
I have a stand for my synth... but I can't go to Tokyo except on weekends, and you live there.. enjoy the stares.
This is a song that sounds very electric guitar like. Its called Guitar vs Piano. Here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Agh92yewM8
Mintjam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d96EXihsS-s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOABz_fmNQk or maybe perhaps you can play themes from video games like CarboHydrom http://carbohydrom.free.fr/ Ailsean http://www.ailsean.net/
Here Danny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm9W4Ts-tw0 Green Jelly - Three Little Pigs. :P
This is all i can think of. エアーマンが倒せない(TEAMねこかんversion)(Airman ga taosenai) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLbFctG3tw0 xD
Along that line, what about Okkusenman? http://xspblog.com/2008/05/31/okkusenman/
Oh those other versions of them are fantastic! Love the eroge-version. xD
My bet would be just about anything by The Who. Preferably "Won't Get Fooled Again". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUlUOvVSm5M&feature=related That youtube version ain't so great, sounds better off the "Who's Next" album, but you can't listen too it without air-guitaring, so with an actual guitar it should be great. Plus it's not overly fast and leaves plenty of room for some mad windmill action. Some Led Zep is also good for that kinda stuff and a few people have mentioned AC/DC, but for that you'd need to find bagpipes as well.
Thanks all for the great suggestions so far!
AC/DC - TNT! It's simple and has that punch to it, came to mind immediately when i thought of a stormtrooper. I would've said Iron Man but that song is already used since the new Iron Man movie came out X)
I agree with the poster who said Aya Hirano~ God Knows , =) .
You want guitar? You want high adrenalin rush? You want to be totally entertaining? Try Dave Edmunds 'Sabre Dance'. This modern version of an old Russian classic will have jaws dropping in astonishment everywhere you go!
I like it! http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=GpqYU3Nzbts
I can't go past - Bob Sinclair - LOVE GENERATION - http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=d4FM2_t3ALo
hey danny how bout this one... http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz3RF4AcY7s&feature=related or this http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=UyLxujpC59U&feature=related or this http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=SwxEOU6ACUw&feature=related just to name a few... hope you like these
sorry for the double post... forgot to put in my personal fav... http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=qpzv-XJ_RDM&fmt=18
Through the fire and flames by Dragonforce would be a good choice. I love the little pacman noise one of them makes during a solo. Rewrite by Ajikan would be a good song aswell.
its starwars, you must do imperial March :3. metallica version >:3
Have to recommend this, most likely not know a lot outside Finland and it's old one too (from 70's) but if someone asks for "guitar solos" I always think of this song, it just is good :) So: Get on by Hurriganes (AMV actually, best version of the song I found quick) http://youtube.com/watch?v=hPpmyJQXsAs&fmt=18 Enjoy ^^
