Mirei-sans Bust

(Figures(39)
Thu 2008/05/22 22:49
This non scale bust figure of Mirei-san retails for 10,290 yen and will be out this September by Kotobukiya - reservations being taken at the Kotobukiya Store.
Great looking figure but finding it difficult to see why she costs so much more than the average figures and she has no legs. And in case you are wondering - the pose is different from the other mirei figure.
Do you have or would you buy any bust figures? More pics at Kotobukiya.

danny, the reson for its hefty price is because it is made of polystone and not PVC.

Agreed!

I would prefer a complete figure rather than just the bust. Mirei is pretty much the only Yamashita design I don't have any issues with!!

why do many of the figures are legless and placed like statues . . i just hope if mirai figure comes out it comes perfect instead of cut offed parts like this one

I really disklike busts most of the time. The reason I like figures is because they look like cute girls, not cute statues.

I'm not a fan of leg-less figurines. Moreover, I have the classic Mirei already, so I'll pass up on this one.

Think is the best bust for Shunya`s serie, but I prefer witout doubt the figure, one reason because one of the best detail for Mirai is... The legs! The option of the shoe is really fetish stuff...

i gotta agree with the rest of the guys here. it's a shame they had to make this mirei into a bust. imo, this one looks way better than the sitting down version. i would buy this... if she has legs >.<

Mirei was one of my first few figures. Actually its the one that got me into buying figures of course it was a rather hard find for me after it disappeared from the local hobby store shelves.
But I haven't been terribly impressed with the busts, I want full figures especially if I were to pay that much for one.

Legs are needed.
My complaint went for all previous sculptures like this one. This one is not spared from my whining. ^^;

WOW! Thats ace!

Mirei still stands today as my all time favourite figure. This is equally as ace, but im not keen on that ornamental base, and like you said - i cant understand why its so pricey for something without legs!

If this is 'non scale', then how big IS it?

Either way - im pre-ordering this

Me again. Do you know if this will be available in most places, or only via Kotobukiya and Rakuten? I remember it was tricky to get hold of Mirei-san...

Nice pose and work... but yeah. Needs moar legs.

The only bust I have in my collection is the one that came with a Range Murata artbook... and still, I really really wanted it to be a full bodied figure....

I think the Bust figure is probably more socially exceptable. Where some people have equated figures as playing with dolls, the bust figure would pretty much be something everyone could understand.

Not a fan of these polystone busts anymore after seeing the actual products - paint tends to look flatter on polystone compared to PVC and it becomes especially obvious on the face area. I really wish Koto had made full-sized PVCs of designs like Noel, Karin etc. instead.

I see why people are complaining about no legs. Now you all have an excuse to stare at her... er... um... money bags (isn't that where all our money is going?). I'm getting this, she looks hawt!

It's the same wiht Mylene Hoffman from the anime series "009-1" made by Daiki, bust style with no legs but a beautiful and hot figure indeed.
I don't know, it's a difficult choice, still a pretty good figure but there're others on my list.
Greetings.
