A 37 year old convenience store worker was arrested for kicking to death a 51 year old man for stealing a loaf of bread worth 126 yen. The victim died from a broken spine and blood loss. that's sad to hear. stealing is wrong. but killing an elderly who stole something as cheap as a bread is even more wrong. :(

Aw man! This is just sad! and so wrong. If only the shopkeeper had been more compassionate. I can't help but imagine the extreme opposite situation- the shopekeeper seeing the (most probably hungry)old man in his store, gave away free bread to the old man. That would've been a better ending.
i don't think it would be something the shop owner would do. this was probably some overzealous punk, that went nuts, and should have been interviewed first before hiring...
That seems overkill and a bit sad, but theres a reason for Japan's low crime rate! Let that be a lesson to you other no-gooders! Super conbini-man is a vigalante with a mean streak!

A few months ago a couple (described as Bonny and Clyde imitators) waited outside a restaurant until closing time. The manager walked out with a bag which they assumed to be money from the till. They held up the manager with a shotgun and took the bag. The guy accidentally shot his accomplice while running to the car. He drove her to a hospital where they were both arrested. The bag turned out to be full of left over bread that the manager was going to feed to his pet fish.
Killed another person coz' of bread... This guys is smart, just smart....
some people love excuses to hurt others. i've seen it! and this is only further proof, i can see someone getting upset at being stolen from but beating them to death is absurd.
