2 Melons sold for a crazy price. If you thought the mangoes were too expensive, check it out and go "WTH?!" like I did. From Japanprobe again: http://www.japanprobe.com/?p=4574
i recalled fruits in Japan are expensive, but DAMN....
Hmm, now thats a rip 0_o. 2.5 million yen is what? 2,500,000.00 JPY = 23,792.21 CAD, Oh shit now thats like buying a shitty Ford or Dodge here 0_o
Wow... Spending all of your savings (unless you're a super rich guy) on two fruits. ^^; Imagine if that money was in your bank account, the manager of the agency would praise and flatter you like if you were some member of royalty/upper class/renowned mafioso (?!) and all (with red carpet and all)... Or you could buy loads and loads of stuff... or a fifth of a house, or... ^^;
*mafia (in the broad sense)
Just read abt these - Yubari melons. Price depends on size and circular shape of the melons. these melons must be the first melons of the season so they are priced so high. Buying the first melons of the season is thought to bring good luck. ---- sorry to bore your pants off ^_^ :runs away:
No, no, that was really interesting facts from you. Thanks for clearing that up! (Brain food always welcome! ^^)
Ah that might explain it but its still crazy. But if its a tradition then its understandable lol.
And here I was thinking black people loved watermelons most... ...ruuuuuuuuuuuuns
LOL I thought you were referring to something else beside fruits...
LOL! I'm not that much obsessed with what you know. ^^; And there are some guys that thought like you did in the original article (as comments).
Aren't fruits expensive because they import them all? I wonder that if I were to bring fruits from here, would I be stopped at customs?
think they feed gold to the plant....jus joking....maybe it is grown using organic method
I know Rock Melon can be very expensive compare to other fruits. In Malaysia, one 15cm diameter rock melon which is imported from Japan can cost at least USD 25
