OK, not necessarily the reason. The other main reason why I'm watching Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the anime's bizarre social commentary, far more bizarre characters, kickass soundtrack, impressive seiyuu lineups (Nonaka Ai, Yuko Goto, Ryoko Shintani, Marina Inoue, to name a few), some segments of the show descending into incredibly bizarre acid trip and the important fact that this show is better than Lucky Star (was made fun of in one of the episodes in Season 2). In before fanboy rage.PS: In one of the obscure messages scribbled on the blackboard in Season 2 Episode 1, the producers promise another season if DVD sales exceed 30,000.
Ok, so this is not necessarily your reason to watch, but your other reasons more than justify why you watch Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. ^^
SZS was enjoyable to watch although I haven't watched the 2nd season..gotta get on that soon
I watch to see Nozomu trying to make himself taller with a rope to his neck, such fun ^^
Ohh this is niiiiiiice... but thats all I have to say for this I guess...
I need to force Japanese people to buy the DVDs or import some myself, I really hope for a third season of this awesome anime.
i still prefer LS. sometimes the jokes/parodies in SZS isn't that funny, IMO.
I on the other hand think otherwise. The problem with LS is the overwhelming focus on otaku-based jokes that makes it kinda annoying to listen later on, and more often, the so-called humor are nothing more than blatant moemoe showcase. By the time the anime picks up around episode 8 and 9, it feels overly bland and repetitive; because a lot of people are watching it seems to be the only motivation for me to go all the way to episode 24. It should rather try to become a true slice-of-life anime like Hidamari Sketch rather than trying to force you to laugh at jokes directed at themselves rather than the audience.
hmm, some dialogue in SZS is TL;DR to me some are too extreme/pushy, and don't funny anymore lucky star is fine for me tho tho ppl opinion is always different :)
Well, it depends on your type of humor... If you like innocent jokes, go for Lucky Star and if you are more into cynical and satire, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is made for you. I loke both, but am more into SZS because it talks a lot about life and how people deny reality... Though I find the second season less funny overall (only one episode left to watch, I don't want it to end now *sniffles*).
I like both, and they're CRAZY!!!! KAH-RAZAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!! MU HU HU HU HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!
haven't watched SZS2, only the 2 episodes. but at the ending of the SZS1 the joke's kinda lame
didn't get a chance to watch any season. is the series really really good?
Yes it is!!!
I need to find a place that has the DVD/uncensored versions. I've seen the entire 1st season, which was good, & I can't wait until the manga gets released here.
Compared to Lucky Star, I think Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is more daring, action-packed, dramatic and artistic. All the Shaft classroom anime have that artistic thing in them. That recent Ef show too.
This serie surprises me for the very beginning. The art and desing for characters and backgrounds are simply amaizing. I recommend this serie, but I must say, like good wine, must be consumed with moderation...
Didn't know that could also be a reason. Downloaded this recently so have put it on the watch-list.
go go emo rangers!
You can hardly compare this series to lucky star. They are completely different things.
LOL SayZetSen makes fun of lot of things... And I like the sudden pantsu shots LOL
I love this show and Lucky Star, both of them a crazy and hilarious!!!!!
