Akihabara News has their hands on one of the smallest Windows Vista machines I've seen so far - I was hoping that the MacAir announcement was going to be something this small but alas...
The size is 84x188x25.9mm, weight is 470g, screen is 5” with a 1024x600 resolution and LED backlight powered by a 1.33GHz Atom Z520 with 1GB of RAM - all for 90,200 yen.
More pics at Akihabara News and ITMedia also has some pics.
On your want list?

Hmm... for something like this, I really feel the need to get a wrist mount for it. My only problem here is the screen is so small, it loses some functionality for me.

It is about $900; I think the price is quite reasonable for something this small.

IT looks nice, but $9000 is just an overdose for me >_<

you'd need a magnifying glass to read from that screen, no thanks.

I won't be able to read posts and play eroge with such a small screen LOL
And isn't it a tad TOO expensive?

I'll pass. Too many drawbacks there (small screen, small keyboard and a -woooooooo!- crazy price).

quite a reasonable price for such a UMPC with vista on. Sony's UMPC costs a bomb.

Too expensive and too useless for me. ^^

i'd get it and put xp on it. if this takes off though it would mean that it could evntually surpass things like the psp, ipod etc.
it just need a brillant marketing campaign and a good development team

I'd probably try and Hackintosh it if I got one. Vista is kind of overkill for an ultra portable.

While I admit those things are shiny, sexy and desirable, I wouldn't spend that kind of money on them.
First because I'm kinda of a heavy user... so either it has full functionalities, or I'd rather buy something bigger and carry it on a backpack.
I'm also not making lots of trips, and also don't need to use computers a lot outside...
For entertainment purposes, I already have a PMP, PSP and DS...
Finally, a screen that size and small keyboards only makes my neck, wrists and eyes hurt.
I have no use for those. But I know lots of people who definitely would buy it. Same as MacAir, iPhone, Nokia N95 and tons of other stuff... I don't have use to them, but I know lots of people who does.

This is madness. eee's 7" and only got 800x480 and I find it quite hard to read sometimes. How are you supposed to read anything at 5" - 1024x600? X_X
The device itself looks cool tho, altho I'm not sure if it will be functional for what I want it to do ^^;

its like, $900 not $9000!
nobody with a sane mind would pay $9000 for that tiny thing! youde have a better time pluggin a ds into an internet connection system!

A 1024x600 resolution will make everything look tiny on that screen.. Can barely see the mouse pointer from here and you will have to strain your eyes just to read the super small fonts..
This UMPC has a bigger screen and I think its cheaper too, cant remember the price but here it is http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=600
